What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

Sure, but I was referring to casting plane shift in order to, you know, shift planes.

What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

Aside: is casting a standard spell for its intended purpose a "creative solution"?

What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

How small can a railroad be? Is a linear dungeon design a railroad?

What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

I don't think "a situation" can be "a railroad" since the latter requires some sort of movement on the rails. I don't think "You are trapped in the faewild" is a railroad. I don't even think "And the only way out is to convince the Faeild Gatekeeper to let you out" makes it a railroad. It...

Who Should Make The Next Star Wars TTRPG, And What Should It Look Like?

I think it is a failure of imagination to want a TTRPG experience to be exactly like some other medium. TTRPGs are their own thing, and while not every genre or playstyle makes things like gear important, I am of the opinion that trying to plan attacks against space-Nazi opponents kind of...

What Geek Media Do You Refuse To Partake In?

Do you just not like superhero comics, or is there something specific about Marvel and DC books?

What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

I mean, "We want to go to Sigil," vs "This campaign is set in ancient Ireland." There is a line. "The GM says No," can't be the definition of "railroading". That is just silly.

What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

To what degree? Where do "campaign constraints" turn into "railroad"?

Who Should Make The Next Star Wars TTRPG, And What Should It Look Like?

I wonder if they did a second edition if they would abandon the 3 game format. I did not follow it closely but it seemed like the last couple years there were more and more supplements not specific to any one line.

What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

General Update: Since I gave them their forks back to leave the feywild any time they want, they have decided to stay and doo the adventure I prepared anyway.

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

For the record, i just reloaded Skyrim. I actually have not played a vanilla run since the Anniversary Edition dropped, so it should entertain me for a while anyway.

Who Should Make The Next Star Wars TTRPG, And What Should It Look Like?

No license deal lasts forever. Also, if the money is right I don't see why they would not sub out the TTRPG. That is to say, if someone is willing to pay more than they would make from selling reprints. Which i can't imagine would be difficult.

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

I was under the impression that GoS was a souls like?

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

At this point I am trying to see if there is a wabbajack modlist for Skyrim SE that gives me what I am looking for without making me slof through the same old Skyrim.

What is "railroading" to you (as a player)?

That is refreshing. I would have been happy in this campaign if when i pitched the "player driven open world" they would have responded with "no thanks; give us the plot". But alas.

Or we could just continue the argument no matter what.

Who Should Make The Next Star Wars TTRPG, And What Should It Look Like?

Sure. All I said is that Star Wars would be okay with a few books and robust support for GM creations.
