Welcome. I haven't played either of those you mentioned CC, but I have and have played Earthdawn and Tales From the Floating Vagabond. :p (Don't mind me I have had a bad day today)

I don't think that I would like 4e made as a CRPG. Not only would it probably need to be turn based, it would also need to be played on a grid to properly adjudicate all the different movement effects. Not only that but would it use 1,1,1,1 diagonal movement or movement more properly modeled...

I cannot say from personal experience but from what I can gather, no it would not. As a matter of fact, so far I cannot find a SINGLE TSR module that has a dragon as its main antagonist, that isn't related to Dragonlance. Kinda makes me wonder about Goodman Games whole "Get to the 20th level...

Base attributes should be random, but what you do with those abilities should be choice. I didn't choose to be this good looking, but I sure am going to use it for all its worth. :cool:

Years ago I abhorred the thought of 3e, but the previews that Dragon had in its pages sold me. I looked in its pages and thought cool, maybe I should look at this new edition and see what they changed/fixed. Being able to flip through the pages actually got me to look at the new edition they are...

I hope they support both editions and their derivatives as much as possible.

Maybe that's it; hunting dragons was supposed to be something you worked towards, not something you could do at first level like in 3e's Sunless Citadel. I still would have thought there would have been an Expert level (4-14 BECMI) module to go after a dragon.
