Something to look at.... Gamers Seeking Gamers

I was amazed at the last map you had up. Sometimes it's hard to believe that RPGs have made it to every corner of the world, though I still believe that somewhere in Antarctica right now, some researchers are sitting down and playing Call of Cthulhu.

Something to look at.... Gamers Seeking Gamers

I tried to go back to it and cannot find out how aside from your post. I assume you haven't put a link to it anywhere yet. EDIT: After looking at it, I feel so alone in Richmond, VA :( (just kidding, I know it's new)

Heh, consider yourself lucky then ;) People from Pennsylvania, Missouri, Alaska, South Carolina, and Virginia know of the taint. Can you make your Will Save?

    Recombining Forums

Response to bolded text: Nope. General always seems to have double the amount of viewers as either 4e or Pathfinder+Legacy D&D. Normally it seems to be about 50% General, 25-30% 4e, 20-25% all other D&D. As of my last refresh: General 313, 4e 209, and Legacy D&D 188. So not quite 50% right now...

    non-4e D&D Players . . .

I'm not. It looks like those that still play 4e have no real business in this thread. And I applaud their collective restraint. It may just be me, but my cursory glances at the previews aren't showing me enough to challenge my view that 4e or 4ee is not for me. I do wish that some would grind...

    non-4e D&D Players . . .

Happy Trails to you... I agree with this. The previews make it seem like the power structure is not as pronounced as it was 4e. There are alot of things that I like about 4e, but the power structure and its gamist limitations turned me off to the point I would never buy it and never play it...

    The Pillars of the Earth

I saw the first two episodes on Comcast on Demand and have to say I am interested enough to continue watching it. Right now it seems to have a good balance of current action and setting up of future conflicts.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Interesting, your point jives with my thoughts about 4e. I would have no problem now playing in a one-shot or maybe D&D Encounters, but I would never choose 4e for my regular game. I don't think I will ever go anywhere near the RPGA again though.

What could a publisher sell you RIGHT NOW/

That's what I did with Dragon Age. One is still in shrink wrap.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Amazing, for a game played by millions. BTW where did they get these playtesters from, the RPGA? (Honestly asking, not trying to be snarky :))

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Too bad I cannot give you XP. I would have said either Hero/D&Dscape or DDM.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Then maybe WOTC should either change it or get rid of it. As long as its there, it is a handy way of stereotyping what some people believe to be one of the inherrent flaws of the system.

    TRUE BLOOD #5:Trouble/Season III/2010

I hadn't been following the series much but between: Jason and the implication of Crystal being some kind of fairy (wife's guess) or Nymph (my guess) and Sookie's Force Push at the end of the show, I think we may just see a strong Fey element enter into the story. I have to say though I am...

    Spell Schools for D&D Legacy

Thank you for reminding me about this thread, and thank you for your generous offer. After reading my initial post, I realize that I didn't make my request very clear because I am not exactly sure what I am looking for, though I will try a give a few examples. For the S&W/OD&D player's...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

I think that this thread is evidence that if WOTC sells something that its former customers want, then some of them can be won back. As for D&D, we will see if Essentials tries to re-embrace D&D's roots. Only time will tell.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

I would expect them to be concerned when they have pushed away a significant portion of their paying customers. Understanding one's market and why so many did not follow along with the new edition is one of the primary functions of business. I'm not saying 4e isn't profitable, but there is what...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

What I find interesting about this thread is that there is nothing new here. I see the same comments that have been made over the past 2-3 years. The only difference is this thread hasn't been locked like all of the others. Though the message is still the same. It will be interesting to see if...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Their loss since there always seems to be an about equal amount in the "not-4e" section and double the amount in General.

    Spell Schools for D&D Legacy

Excellent, thanks for the help. I have The Core Rules v2 that if I can find I will take a look at. Unfortunately I do not have any White Dwarf mags for what you mentioned but the info you presented should help me continue my searches.
