    D&D 5E (2014) DMG page 274.

Or how about the tables on 280 and 281? ~100 different abilities and features that the monsters in the Monster manual have and what they do.

D&D 5E (2014) Why are vague rules praised?

Ha you're right forgot about that tidbit. Then how about in ODandD having certain races be able to level up higher than others? :P

D&D 5E (2014) On the healing options in the 5e DMG

Wait so before this you thought they were actually being malicious in designing 5e? I I can be pretty cynical about humanity sometimes, but going that far is kind of absurd. Expecting them to cater to all play styles in one book written by a dozen people over a year is asking far too much.

    D&D 5E (2014) New to D&D and want to DM a game

If you're brand spanking new to D&D, I would recommend actually getting the Starter Set. It's pretty cheap, comes with a bunch of premade characters, and the adventure inside will last quite a few sessions and I thought was better written and easier to run than the hoard of the dragon queen. Try...

I look forward to reading your edition of the Dungeon Master's guide!

D&D 5E (2014) Why are vague rules praised?

The reason is probably twofold: 1. People were fed up having to house rule tons of little things in previous editions. I know from personal experience that there were a lot of things in 3.5 that were set in stone that we houseruled anyway because they were silly or didn't make much sense. This...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG excerpt: Carousing!

Dang... can't I hire a contractor to watch the thread for me while I go hunt that dragon?

D&D 5E (2014) How are the Monster challenge ratings matching up in game?

I've found them to be very rough estimates of the power of a monster, whereas the experience points and encounter generator have worked far better.

    D&D 5E (2014) playtest 18th level PC vs town...lFqW reborn... or not

Yes because 7 words and three numbers is the same as what GM posted. Besides, you posted that, what, four minutes after my post? I sincerely doubt you had time to run this. Why are you even bothering to come on here and take a dump on someone's post? Don't you have something better to do? I...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG excerpt: Carousing!

Actually it demonstrates that RPG fans are happy to tear apart a rule if it's vague, but apparently don't care to pay attention to the ones that are pretty good! (A generalization of course, but holy cow, all of this on one vague wording of one rule...)

    D&D 5E (2014) playtest 18th level PC vs town...lFqW reborn... or not

It's amazing to me that someone could post so much stuff, go through all that effort (and with exceptional detail and forethought) only to have someone counter that no, that can't possibly be true, yet provide no evidence of their own. Well done GM. Excellent analysis.

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG excerpt: Carousing!

Three days. 1st day: you leave. They complete the day, but add three more because you were absent. There are 4 days left, three extra, one original. 2nd day: you come back. They take this day off the original days needed. Since you are present, no extra days are needed, but there are still 3...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG excerpt: Carousing!

It's actually x4 because its three additional days. But if they leave for just one day and come back, add 3 days to the original time. That's it. Every day they're gone, add another 3 days. think of it like this. Every day that you're there takes away a day from the original time. Every day...

D&D 5E (2014) Mage Hand and the No Good, Low Down, Dirty Rotten Arcane Trickster

Yeah after rereading the feature it seems this was the purpose of it along. So for an arcane trickster he should be good to go, but anyone else using Mage hand that way would be disadvantaged. Put me back in the too harsh party as well.

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG excerpt: Carousing!

Uh, no. Once all of the original time has been tripled, the work continues until that triple time is done, at which point the structure is completed. Example: a 100 day structure needs to be completed. The player stays for 50 days, leaves for 50 days, then comes back for the remaining 50. It...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG excerpt: Carousing!

As others have said, this is clearly not what they intended. It adds three days to the original time, not to the days that have been added since. I'm starting to think some people enjoy being overly pedantic!

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG excerpt: Carousing!

Clearly this is one of those times when they thought that simple common sense would rule over an overly explained rule. Although they could have added "original" into that sentence and made it perfectly clear with only one extra word.

D&D 5E (2014) Mage Hand and the No Good, Low Down, Dirty Rotten Arcane Trickster

I don't think so. That is an awfully large boost to power when a rogue can suddenly disarm traps from that far away. And to be honest, I probably wouldn't let him do it anyway for a couple simple reasons: A lot of lockpicking is done by feel, not just by dexterity, i.e., you can feel out where...
