Expect a neat trick that can be saved against, and cool character flavor. Scout/Shadowdancer should lend to Rogue feel. Once he get's a Shadow familiar, those are dandy with STR draining touch attacks but they're pretty fragile. I can't imagine horrible abuse from this sort of character build.

Respond back with "If I have less spells per day, I will need to rest more often and be done with the adventuring day". If this is not truly the case, then you'll be ok without them.

Nymph's Kiss will get you +1 skillpoint per level, and a few other bonuses. I'd be interesting to roleplay acquiring that one. Apprentice will get you +2 at the get go, and add 2 skills as class skills.

I get the impression that when making decisions, he'd often be able to say "That's a good idea" or "That's not a good idea" and be right on the money, but be unable to articulate why.
