ZEITGEIST Zeitgeist 5e Overhaul (personal project)

I have adjusted the mechanics and math of a lot of 5e Zeitgeist for my personal campaign and decided to make what worked well for my group available as a resource. I thought people who are interested in Zeitgeist but don't browse the D&D forum might like a look...

    D&D 5E (2024) How Many HP Should 5E 2024 Minions Have

Late to the party, but maybe this might be useful to try out sometime. I set up Troops (swarms of creatures larger than Tiny) for these situations because it lets me have the "weight/pressure" of a wall of low-level enemies without slowing things down with a low of die rolls. It is a small bit...

    Zeitgeist 5e Overhaul 0.1.0

This is my take on a version of the 5e player options and campaign setting for Zeitgeist 5e. It is a work in progress, and all feedback is appreciated. Only people who are past or current GMs for the campaign or are a player who has finished the campaign should look at the GM Info file as...

ZEITGEIST Ziggurat of Apet: Trap before map

Also, it is okay if the PCs die. The Voice of Rot revives them in the next scene anyway. :devilish:

Is it okay for a creature to counterspell a firearm?

D&D General Alternate firearms rules (input needed)

Looking at that whole wall of text in my previous post, it reminds me of something that one of my players mentioned while we were brainstorming how to make firearms "interesting and different". He said, "It's not the 5e way of doing things. In 5e, you want to simplify, simplify, simplify." We...

D&D General Alternate firearms rules (input needed)

Is there an anticipated max character level for this campaign? For high-level fighters and characters with two-weapon fighting, a PC can go through six pistols in only two rounds. I think that while the mechanic of a Dexterity saving throw works reasonably well as a means to say that bullets...

D&D General Alternate firearms rules (input needed)

At the risk of: Hey, here's something I found on Google. It is fairly easy to find multiple examples of people indicating that very early firearms defeating plate, at least at the short ranges used for Pathfinder and D&D firearms. Pathfinder handled firearms by making a ranged attack against...

In that case, the sweet spot for the feat might give someone with the feat 1 more damage die over someone without the feat per round. You might want to make the reload the bonus action, otherwise someone can use the firearm plus use their action for something else, like casting a fireball.

So anyone can do one big shot once per encounter, but someone trained with the feat can fire every other turn. I would suggest having the feat both add a damage die and make reloading an action. That would allow a level 1-4 character to keep up with a firearm as a primary weapon. Then you just...

I realized that was more my suggestion on a slightly modified version of what you proposed. To actually address your questions and possible issues I see. Personal opinions are starred (*). In no particular order: Making this not an attack roll but also not a spell means that you have to build...

D&D General Alternate firearms rules (input needed)

I have been working on updating Pathfinder 1e guns into 5e in support of my Zeitgeist campaign. Back when I was considering whether or not to include the concept of the ranged attack vs Touch AC, I thought about using Dex saving throws. So if eliminating the effect of physical AC is what you are...

WotBS Lykkenthrope's War of the Burning Sky

Well, if everyone else at your table is happy, more power to you. It might be easier to focus on a subclass that only adds features at levels 3, 6, 10, and 14. Those features should feel balanced against features from other barbarian subclasses. Looking at the berserker, each feature is a...

WotBS Lykkenthrope's War of the Burning Sky

Did he take a look at the Path of the Juggernaut in the WotBS Player's Guide? It lets you use heavy armor and still get all the normal barbarian features (except unarmored defense). Even as a Berserker, he doesn't miss out on any features if he uses Medium armor.
