Older editions. 1st and 2nd. 3e has like 100,000 feats to coordinate. I never played 4e; but it’s my understanding that char gen there was a bit of a pain. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying you need a PhD to make a character. But why wouldn’t I use Beyond? I have a phone and it’s free...

They were easier to make. There wasn’t a databases worth of choices. If I take the time I’m sure I could make one from the book.

I’ve been playing for decades and couldn’t make a character without DDB. Why would I want to when I could just use the buttony dropdown picky online thing? I’m no mathemagician but my guess is that there are more people who just make a character vs. people who care how well that character is...

It feels like WoTC just doesn't know what to do with D&D at all. It's the most popular kid in school it still feels like its walking around in the dark trying to find someone to take it to the prom. Get it together already WotC. 🤷‍♂️

Psychology Today Pessimism Anyone who has worked with other humans knows full well that being around negative people has a terrible impact on team morale.

Not everyone processes everything everyone says with such clinical precision. It's very tedious. Were not curing diseases and preventing wars. Were just people having casual conversations.

Optimism isn't about assuming it will go right. Being optimistic is about working towards making things go right. Believing that we can get things to work. Why oh why does every conversation end up with people arguing over the definition of things?!?!

We started using clear acrylic/plexi in the early 90's and never went back. Cheap sheet from the local big box over a battlemat or map...invaluable compared to the single sheet of looseleaf that we turned into swiss cheese with erasers previously.

Telling people their comments and opinions are nonsense is what makes people defensive.

You don't answer to me friend. If you say these things aren't a story for you then they aren't. You don't need to relabel them for me. I've just never understood your insistence that RPGs aren't stories. We all see life through our own lenses.
