D&D 5E (2014) WotC to increase releases per year?

I'm ok with it as long as it is campaigns, theme supplements or monster manuals. We don't need more rulebooks and we do not need more classes or subclasses IMO.

    D&D 5E (2014) Spanish Inquisition Hide/Cool question

The real answer is simple ---- red ...... no blue AHHHH!

    D&D 5E (2014) Do Assassins suck?

Ok if they play a Rogue, any Rogue, with 8 dexterity they screwed up. Have you really had that happen? I have played many warlocks without EB though, and EK with sword and shield is fine as long as you have warcaster feat.

TSR Running list of potential problematic issues in TSR era DnD

Some people are going to have a problem regardless. If you put him in African garb, some will appreciate the diversity represented in such a depiction, while others would see it as either cultural appropriation or tokenism. The big problem is stereotypes. When context and meaning are not...

    D&D 5E (2014) Do Assassins suck?

Agree, but few of the 5E players I have played with are powergamers. Most of them regularly make decisions that comform to their thematic idea or playstyle and often from a combat power point of view, those choices are inferior. About half the feats available do little to increase combat...

D&D 5E (2014) What do you want out of crafting rules?

If you are running most of the published WOTC campaigns (TOD, TOA, OOTA, DIA, ROFM ......) I think it is going to be difficult to craft without disrupting gameplay. As these are the official campaigns, I would suggest that the standard template is adventuring from levels 1 to 13ish (where these...

    D&D 5E (2014) Do Assassins suck?

Agree, although I have never ran into that. I usually find myself out of spell slots quickly.

    D&D 5E (2014) Do Assassins suck?

I think it depends on your build. The blade cantrips are great in melee, but I don't see them as a must have for an AT. I was playing ATs before SCAG and BB/GFB came out and they were pretty awesome then without those even available. My must have cantrip for an AT is message. After that...

D&D 5E (2014) Flanking, advantage, and opportunity attacks

Having played both with and without flanking, I think it is better to go without it.

D&D 5E (2014) Flanking, advantage, and opportunity attacks

This is not really much of a debuff. Personally, in point buy a lot of my characters start with a 10 constitution, so this would have no effect on hp but give me an AC boost There are no Constitution skills so there already is little reason for anyone except melee characters to invest in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Do Assassins suck?

How can you you screw up an Arcane Trickster? There are not many options in the way of spells because almost all have to be enchantment or illusion. If you take Find Familiar then all of the others until 8th level or so need to be. That class is really fun in my experience, but there are not...

    Shillelagh - Why no scaling?

They require an action to cast over and over. If you had to take an action to cast shill every turn it would not be an issue. As it is, it is a bonus action and it lasts an entire battle. I think this would be a fine homebrew cantrip Jack's Shill - as an action you make a spell attack while...

    D&D 5E (2014) Nets and sharpshooter

So the main problem is what kind of damage? piercing? slashing? I think I would give it the +10 and make it slashing damage.

D&D 5E (2014) What do you want out of crafting rules?

I don't think there should be crafting rules in D&D. I don't think players should spend time crafting and except in unusual cirrcumstances (helping make swords to arm the townsfolk because the orc army is only 3 days away). The character backgrounds and artisan tools add nice flavor, but for...

D&D General What have you done with Orcs in your games?

It has taken a long, long time for me to get comfortable with chaotic orcs as I played 1E extensively. Now I run mostly to types of Orcs CE orcs that are the "standard" for 5e and other LE soldier type Orcs that can be found in many mercenary groups.

D&D 5E (2014) Give me your strongest characters

It depends what you mean by strongest. In terms of all around gameplay the strongest character I have seen played is Tulip who was a player in a game I DMed - She was a half elf Rogue6/Ranger4/Bard4. At the end of the game she had a 16 Dex, 16Wis, 16Ch, 12 int, she was proficient in every...

D&D 5E (2014) Moving out of concealment to attack - when is stealth broken?

    (y) Agree that is an option, one of several he could use and depending on the situation he could even daisy chain it - try BA hide first and then if he fails then ready action.

D&D 5E (2014) Moving out of concealment to attack - when is stealth broken?

In combat they are not overpowered if they get SA every single turn. You are right about that. If we just give Rogue's SA every single turn and even if we allowed it when they were in disadvantage or wielding a greatsword or whatever, it still would not be OP in combat. On that much we can...
