    DC Comics Reboot

I've only read a few of them, but must say I was very pleasantly surprised by the Deadman story in DC Universe Presents. I didn't know much about the character and wasn't expecting a lot, but was very impressed with the maturity of the story and characterization, and the ending definitely left...

    How involved are your NPCs?

Arise, o deceased thread! Thought it might be worth posting my approach to this. I had lineup changes leave me with two ex-PCs at one point, and it was during the fire forest so they really had little chance to leave for most of that adventure, so I got REALLY fed up with DMPCs at one point...

WotBS Your WotBS: How Did YOur Group Surprise You?

Nice to see the odd friendly "face" from my Usenet days. I had a guest co-DM during the Fire Forest adventure to, among other things, play Tiljan, and a romantic sub-plot between her and the bard developed. (Vuel/Deception had told her something beautiful was to be found in the abandoned...

Five thugs walk into a bar

The "loose cannon" is going to need to learn to work with others if he is to be at all effective as a Warlord... might be a good opportunity for roleplaying and character growth. There's a bard in my current 4E group who is (intentionally on the player's part) going through an arc like that.

    I'ma moooonster! BUILDER!

Are you KIDDING me?!? That's been around for well over a year, it's not as though that change snuck up on them. Trust WotC to take the one thing I've been waiting for that might have made me resubscribe, and mess it up with a stupid rookie mistake. I don't understand how it's possible for them...

Pondering RE: Monte Cook / Long-term roadmaps for both Wizards and Paizo

Compelling adventures and an interesting setting. Hey, it seems to work for Paizo. ==================================== Beyond that one point I specifically wanted to respond to, a few other comments (not directed at Jerome specifically). First of all, there's an important difference between...

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Monte Cook working on D&D 5th Edition?

My main reasons for not buying the 5E rumours have been (a) it's too soon, and (b) gearing up for a major new release is a time when you hire people, not when you let core team members go; those who saw a portent in the loss of Bill Slavisek, in particular, had things exactly backwards IMO...

    New OotS

Not really a counterargument to anything Squire James said. And I happen to agree with him, this is the first OotS in quite some time that hasn't worked for me on some level. The last panel sacrifices all pretense of story plausibility for a joke that, at least IMO, isn't even all that good...

We have 99 Heroes of Neverwinter beta keys to give away

    (a) They ran out a while back, and (b) you don't need one anymore anyway; it's now in an open beta, any Facebook user can just log into it. (I never did get mine from this thread, I assume because the open beta was announced before Morrus got around to sending them all and at that point there...

We have 99 Heroes of Neverwinter beta keys to give away

Okay, no problem. Thanks for letting me know where this currently sits. If it's not there in a week then I'll worry about it :D.

Have the keys been sent? I haven't received mine.

Five, seven, five is The right syllable count, yes? Many have that wrong.

    Is Heroes of Horror OGL?

The SRD for 3.5 included, as far as I recall, content from the three core books, the psionics stuff, the options from Unearthed Arcana, and bits of Deities and Demigods. Not everything in those books was in there (most obviously, the rules for creating and advancing characters were omitted); the...

    Dear Wizards of the Coast...

I too would like to see more Dungeon content of the sort that has traditionally been its focus and strength - adventures. They never seemed to have trouble filling a magazine with them before 4E, and adventure design is if anything easier to do adequately now (albeit as hard as ever to do...

    schedule?

That's good news as far as I'm concerned, because it's the ruleset that interests me the most! Is there an estimated time frame at this point, or is it just a case of "be patient, it'll be done when it's done"?

    schedule?

And Santiago? I too am interested in this, more for the 4E-based sci-fi aspect than anything specific to Resnick. As far as I can see, and sorry if I've missed anything, there hasn't been a peep about Santiago in months.

    Help - New Blinding look?

Other predominantly-white sites aren't all blazing white, everywhere. There needs to be some contrast here and there. I'm not opposed to predominantly white colour schemes in general, but I'm very much opposed to this particular one.

    Oots 0801

Hmm, how did he know they were in the desert? That's going to be the most important development introduced in this strip, methinks.

D&D digital licensing rights lawsuit settled

I don't think the rookie mistake was exclusive licensing so much as going to Infogrames (I refuse to call them "Atari" as they have nothing to do with the Atari I grew up with). Though the exclusivity did limit what they could do to correct the situation once it became clear what a charlie...
