    Essentials Bard: the Balladeer

That link doesn't seem to work. However, clicking "Blog" on the left-hand side will take you right to the relevant entry.

    Essentials Bard: the Balladeer

I assume you get Majestic Word as well? This looks like it could be fun to play. Are the crescendos you choose at first level in addition to, or alternatives to, the ones specific to each at-will power? I assume in addition.

    Marking

The bear should probably get the hell out and seek easier prey. But if that isn't an option for whatever reason, yes, I would generally have it go after the striker. Either way, it isn't just going to blindly obey the mark.

    Critique my D&D tool

Seems to have taken a full restart in my case... but no matter, it's working now! Looking forward to playing around with it.

    Critique my D&D tool

From the videos, it looks like it could be very useful. However, it doesn't seem to work on my system; it just gets stuck forever on a page that says "Connecting socket" and never finishes loading.

You Wanted Character Themes, You Got 'Em - Dragon 399 ToC

Yes, but how many of them have new content for the game (as opposed to advice, anecdotes, history etc) that was created specifically for this issue (as opposed to a book that was later canceled)? Either zero or one, depending how the Unearthed Arcana looks.

Accessory: Random Treasure Generator Version 3

Is this still available in any form? The links on your site just take me back to the top of the page, they don't download anything.

Mearls' Legends and Lore - poll on delve format for adventures

This, this, a thousand times this. The delve format is fantastic for boxed sets, but becomes cumbersome if you insist on presenting an adventure as a single book. I was going to skim the thread and make that suggestion if someone else didn't, it's nice to see that someone did within the first...

    Oots 0783

That was... kind of depressing, actually. Didn't think I'd ever sympathize with those two d-bags, but I'm with Roy; they were nowhere near bad enough to deserve this.

IMPORTANT! Should EN World continue reporting RPG news?

I'd be very sad to see the news page go. I don't post that often but I've been a reader of this site in its various forms since 1999 and it was the 3E news of that early era that first brought me here. But, if I'm honest with myself, I'd be sad about this for reasons of nostalgia, not because I...

Where can I download "War of the Burning Sky"?

Morrus, of course, means the 4E versions (which, given your reference to DDI, is probably what you're interested in). The 3.5 versions of the entire saga have long since been written and are available in places like rpg.net. They're only being released to ENWorld subscribers as the 4E ones...

Where can I download "War of the Burning Sky"?

Well, parts 1 through 9 at the moment (both the 3.5 and 4E versions), and eventually the whole thing.

    Oots 0772

I think that was right as of the 1E PH. I mostly remember playing that they could be any alignment except LG, but I don't know when or even if that became the official rule.

What kind of print products would want WotC to produce?

I'd like some form of Epic-level support, a book that provides _____ Power type support for the Runepriest and Seeker along with maybe some new builds for other classes (especially Warpriest domains), and more revisions of monsters, especially "classic" ones, that were underpowered in the first...

[WotC's recent insanity] I think I've Figured It Out

I'm not sure what you mean by "logic". Logic is a set of principles for making sure you don't come to false conclusions from true premises. By itself, it is completely neutral on which rules are better. Common sense, which it sounds like you might actually have in mind, does not suggest that...

"Variable Resistance" v. Mutiple Damage Types

Exactly. Pace Aegeri, this is not "extremely debatable". As he himself said, it's only an interrupt if it has to be in order to function. Variable resistance still does something, and it happens to be something fairly interesting IMO, if it's not an interrupt, so it isn't. The standard isn't...

Sell me on the DM's kit (or help justify my decision to ignore it)

This is pretty much the impression I had. The MV is my #1 most wanted D&D product at the moment and the only reason I haven't bought it already is the possibility that I might get it for Christmas; that sounds much better for tokens (granted, very few PC-suitable ones, but I've got my own much...

Sell me on the DM's kit (or help justify my decision to ignore it)

My brother-in-law and I were at a bookstore today and found ourselves looking at Essentials products while waiting for my sister, and I found myself wondering aloud if there was any real point to getting the DM's kit. For a new DM coming off the Red Box I can imagine there would be, but I don't...

    Maybe I'm playing it wrong...

No-one said they should be able to take out (non-Minion) enemies in one hit. They said that, by operating as a team and focusing fire, they should be able to take out enemies in one round. Usually, you want to gang up on one enemy at a time until it's dead, preferably the one that does the most...

Current state of the online Character Builder

Well, yes. Which is precisely why even very patient folks like Merric are reaching the end of their rope (especially given that the new CB has so far been a step backwards in this process).
