Adventure Time TTRPG Drops "Yes And" System, Switches To 5E

I would put money on the table to bet that there are far more people who spend money on rpgs who are fans of Monty Python than Adventure Time, especially the type of money that doesn’t care what system is used. I like those odds haha. Anyway, this is a silly conversation to have, no?

This is a no brainer if you want to make even a smidgen of money off that IP you shelled out for.

What Is Your Favorite Campaign Setting?

First Forgotten Realms book I read was Faiths and Avatars as a preteen and it is smeltered into my brain as being amazing. Soooo, I don’t mind the ToT stuff as much. 3.5 also had some good books, no?

Time to vote for BG3 for the Game Awards, which is in December

Bandwagon, rig, potato potato. We don’t need a call to arms to ensure that BG3 wins—in my opinion, that’s silly. Arguing over word choice written predawn is silly too.

Time to vote for BG3 for the Game Awards, which is in December

No way. BG3 was great, but Phantom Liberty had a better story and Tears of the Kingdom was a gameplay masterpiece. There is no major nerd credit attached to BG3 winning these awards that we therefore need to band together to rig the vote.

Chaosium’s Cthulhu Regency book recently published might be something you find helpful.

Philadelphia by Night Brings the 1800s to Vampire: The Masquerade

This is the type of pdf I will definitely buy simply for the lore, yet never play. I love books like this. Thank you for publishing it.

How do I know if I'm reading a good/up to date history book?

When it comes to reading history, which I do a lot of, I check for three things: 1. the date it was published (older does not automatically mean worse. Steven Runciman’s work may have been supplemented by more recent scholarship, but he’s still the best writer on Byzantium.) 2. The reputation...

What Property That Has Never Had A TTRPG Adaptation Deserves one?

That’s a truly amazing introduction. One reason I truly did not like Old Gods at all is that it didn’t capture the feel and magic of a region I know quite well like Manly Wade did through his works. It’s a matter of subjective taste, I get that, but one product feels like a creative writing...

What Property That Has Never Had A TTRPG Adaptation Deserves one?

Did either cite Manly Wade as an inspiration? I know Old Gods didn’t, and it shows in the quality of the product, imo.

What Property That Has Never Had A TTRPG Adaptation Deserves one?

The world of John the Balladeer, as envisioned by Manly Wade Wellman. The atmosphere is perfect for an rpg, and southern gothic Appalachian weirdness has not been successfully captured in a ttrpg yet, imo.

D&D 5E (2014) Justin Alexander's review of Shattered Obelisk is pretty scathing

We just did the second half as we did the first half a while ago. Wasn’t too much to handle, just followed the book pretty closely.

D&D 5E (2014) Justin Alexander's review of Shattered Obelisk is pretty scathing

Eh, I enjoyed running it. I don’t know this reviewer is, and he doesn’t seem like the kind of person I’d welcome at my table, just based off of his written tone. Just play the game and don’t think too hard about it.
