Karma, Rewards /Consequences Do you use it? If so, what is good, and if not what is bad?

What if a player ignores detrimental metagame knowledge? Or chooses to fail a contest instead of rolling? Or actually plays her alignment correctly?

    D&D 5E (2024) What Is 2026's Big Adventure

Did someone say D&D and Big Adventure? Whatever it is, I'm expecting a very cosmopolitan group of allies.

Keeping Track of Time (In Game)

Time-sensitive objectives are age-old game tools. And antagonists wait on no one. My magic-users/spellcasters keep track of time because their power comes back hourly, not daily. This is a little too close to "I just got my vacation time approved by middle management" for my taste. What...

Level Up (A5E) Planning an Adventure101: Please Help

If you already have players, you can find out their feelings on Railroads™ and what their characters' motivations are, to answer some of these questions. One way to decide where to go with stuff is to have a BBEG.* Those make campaign decisions for you. And they're kind of required - unless...

    Life path system in-game

D&D could really use a system like this. I hate making D&D characters.

The oldest tech you still use

I still play the Wonderful World of Eamon, which was originally written in Applesoft BASIC. So, 40 year old tech? Hoping to revitalize it here, BTW . . .

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

The same ones I was playing in 2020, plus RPG Maker MV. I highly recommend it.

    Life path system in-game

I think these are problems that a life path system is designed to overcome. I don't think a detailed backstory is required in all cases, either. It could be as simple as, "bully, valedictorian, burger-flipper." It's hard to be constrained by that. The GM might have to do some fishing to keep...

Collaborative Dungeons, Right Here on ENWorld!

Oh ye dungeon-makers (and dungeon-explorers), Have you ever wanted a web-accessible dungeon document? That you could, say, bring up on your phone while DMing a D&D night at your local tavern? What about having a shared quest that you could build with other ENWorlders, with no need to share...

    Test Adventure. Brave souls wanted.

I added a secret chamber and another item. Here's my quest log. I'll leave a link to the newest room so you can compare it to the first format - its actions aren't fully linked. Conveniently, the new room has three obvious exits (which might make good places for you to test this system as...

    Crows Officially Announced by MCDM

Sounds like the game I'm working on here: https://www.enworld.org/threads/test-adventure-brave-souls-wanted.717654/#post-9847592 Send me a message if you need something to keep you busy until (no release date).

    Test Adventure. Brave souls wanted.

First wrinkles: I can nest child (subordinated) pages for better navigation on the Navigation pane. Pages with child pages will need their child-pages-panes hidden. NPC and item pages should probably have a hidden navigation pane too. The Look action should probably be a spoiler window. I can...

How Complex Do You Prefer Your TTRPG Systems In General

I'd actually put D&D 5e at 5 and D&D 6e at 6. I answered 3, not knowing the rules to Lasers and Feelings, but my favorite game could go up to 4 or 5 with some thematic rules modules. I could also bump it down to 2 if I'm feeling like an easy, social thing.

    Test Adventure. Brave souls wanted.

Hail-o, ENWorld! I just tested my idea for a text- and tab-based "solo" role-playing game that anyone on ENWorld can play. I say "solo" only because one is the minimum number of players, and I'm hoping it will involve other players in the form of allies, dungeon designers, guild members, and...

    Where Complexity Belongs

The rules to Monopoly are not that long, but players still ignore some rules. It's more of an issue of "what are the players willing to use" than "which parts should be complex."

    Video Games and Music

Wait, is Hall Reverb one of her magical powers? Some characters just need to know when to cut themselves off, like Jespar from Enderal: "Never walked back on the road, from the aged man's abode . . . I know. I can't sing."
