Rings of Power should have been great. Instead it's lackluster. Huge missed opportunity. I think it's only on the air because of sunk costs. Amazon has invested too much $$$ in the property to cut bait.

I think DDB and direct-to-consumer sales will be a game changer for WotC as they finally own their own distribution platform. It puts D&D on a path toward longterm sustainability. With few exceptions, I'm now ordering all my books directly from DDB.

My 2026 campaign will be set in the Dales and centered around Myth Drannor, so definitely interested in quality supplements for this location.

I think Mike and I have a similar play style. Although his players seem to make decisions and get through combat much faster than mine!

It's wild to me that a rogue could be considered overpowered. Frankly, I don't believe it. I am planning for an upcoming campaign that will have a thief rogue and I will be showering them with magic items just to see what happens.

I agree that elements of the set are childish. Which is great for when I run it for my kids. When I run it for my regular group, it won't be hard to age it up.

Currently playing 13th Age. Will kickoff one or more campaigns next year for 5E 2024.
