I think you are thinking of the class spell lists. Crawford talked about how they are in the class features now, and the lists have a little more information, namely spell school and duration, and whether it has costly material components.

Yes, you are presumably translucent, or have some kind of psychic disruption, or something that makes you supernaturally invisible. "Hide" makes you invisible so far as you are not visible to others behind a wall or in the dark. The spell gives you the condition without requiring darkness or cover.

The new PHB, regarding Hiding, says "The Dungeon Master decides when circumstances are appropriate for hiding." They kept it loose. I believe they are using the word "invisible" as a synonym for "not visible," rather than "you turn translucent."
