You don't play 4E, but what did they get RIGHT?

there isn't much i like about 4e, but the things that i do like, i REALLY like: 1. at-will powers/spells. the idea of a wizard running out of spells and resorting to using a crossbow makes me cry. 2. fixed hit points, although not the specific amounts. the idea of a fighter gaining one hit...

WHat are the best books/items ever for D&D? :)

my top 3: 1. 1e dmg- tons of brilliant, helpful information; can be read for pure enjoyment (and i still enjoy reading it today). 2. 3e manual of the planes- reads like a fascinating encyclopedia. 3. 3e draconomicon- incredibly creative, incredibly detailed book on dragons.

What materials must a Player have/bring with them at a game session?

themselves. everything else is gravy. it's hard enough finding good players, so just showing up is enough.

    "Great session"? Wait, I'm confused...

i ALWAYS compliment the dm on a good session. i've been on both sides of the screen, so as a player i can appreciate a good game. plus, good dm's are hard to find. we should thank them for their efforts messy

what are the ramifications of points-of-light?

    fixing feint

some possibilities for simpler feint rules: 1. opposed skill check (feinter's bluff vs. defender's sense motive, for example). 2. opposed ability check (feinter's charisma modifier vs. defender's wisdom modifier). 3. opposed bab check (feinter's bab vs. defender's bab). 4. defender's reflex...
