allo i seem to remember a (mighty) bow whose strength bonus to damage changed according to the wielder's strength, i.e., the "pull" of the bow always adjusted to the wielder... does anyone remember which bow that was? messy

i like drizzt, but i got tired of his moping. yeah, he's cool with the scimitars, but he became a cliche. i always preferred bruenor. at least the dwarf had a sense of humor :-)

well said, though i further increased the constitution penalty to compensate for the bonuses to intelligence and charisma. balanced? or killing the benefit? messy

allo this is an elf variant. does it look balanced? traits shared with typical elves: medium size base speed 30 feet immunity to magic sleep effects low-light vision elven weapon proficiency +2 racial bonus on listen, search, and spot checks secret/concealed door sense automatic/bonus...

weird. i've seen a couple reviews recently that didn't like it so much, and i have absolutely no idea what these people are thinking. almost 20 years later, and i still laugh like crazy when i watch spaceballs. the doll scene is, IMO, one of the funniest scenes ever made :cool: messy

couldn't have said it better myself :) ANY item, even a +1 dagger, can be made interesting and less "vanilla" by giving it a brief history, description, or unique feature (magical or otherwise). exactly :) all of the unique, flavorful items i've read about in this thread are excellent :)...

call me vanilla, but i'll take the balance and customization of point-buy over the randomness and luck of rolling. messy :)

i think that all of these suggestions can be constructed from the base classes, npc classes, and prestige classes: battlemage -- eldritch knight (doesn't have full bab or spellcasting for balance reasons). assassin -- rogue. duelist -- rogue, fighter with weapon finesse, or multiclassed...
