D&D 3.x Perspective on the Edition Wars - salute to the 3e Camp

Maybe I don't read up on it enough, since I could care less what other people think of my preferred system (3.x), but it always seemed to me that 4e was getting dumped on more while it was out than 3e.

Hi! Welcome to the internet. Try not to attract too much attention to yourself.

Feat to Take 10 on Ride Under Duress?

I don't know of a feat off the top of my head, but Templar gives Skill Mastery, which allows you to take 10 on a skill.

D&D 3.x D&D 3.5 - Are full casters overpowered when compared to melee characters?

    1. True, but wizards reach the point where there spells boot fighters and the point where they have more than enough spells for a day at about the same spell. I'd put this at 7th level, personally. 2. A wizard shouldn't be getting grappled in the first place. Abrupt Jaunt, if the fighter...

D&D 3.x D&D 3.5 - Are full casters overpowered when compared to melee characters?

The immediate instinct for new players is to make a blaster, due to the "ooh shiny" effect. Oddly, something as trivial as hitpoint damage is the only area that non-casters will surpass casters. Therfore, if played in novice hands, things are about even, since the wizard will still be forced to...

How should an Animal Companion react if it suddenly got an Int boost?

It would not act any differently whatsoever. It has only gained a greater capacity to learn new things, but hasn't yet learned anything it didn't already know at Int 2.

Another shot at nerfing casters for balance

Here's a list for an arena game on a different site that I thought was a really nice set of houserules for a normal game. Prepare for a Wall of Text...... Any spell, power, etc. with an XP component does not exist. Psionic powers or mantles do not exist at all. Psi-like abilities that are...

    Tripping flying creatures?

I completely agree. It's just that being rewarded with said stall isn't likely.

    Tripping flying creatures?

It isn't a good idea to "bet" that someone is just lazy. Either way, it's an insult to either his language skills, or his posting ethics. And either way, it deterrs lurkers from posting, so as not to deal with posts like yours.

    D&D 3.x D&D 3.5 - Favorite Summoned Monster, by level

lvl1; The Dire Badger. Not many options here, really. lvl2; Ether Scarab. Damn useful for lower levels. lvl3; Small Elemental. Earth, in particular, for earth glide scouting. Cranium Rat Swarm is also excellent. lvl4; Salt Mephit is nice, I guess. Celestial Lion is cool too. lvl5; Better Cranium...

I don't know what to say to this. Aside from it invalidating MotAO, I Guess. This feature is outrageous.

    D&D 3.x D&D 3.5 - Favorite Abjuration spells, by level

Energy Absorption! Such a fun spell. 10 resistance against all 5 types, can be discharged at any time to grant immunity to an incoming attack, healing the equivalent damage instead of dealing it.

Chain of Eyes. I think you thought it was Cleric only, but upon research, it is Wiz/Sor, in SpC. Numerous uses.
