    How do you guys handle Snese Motive?

    i dunno.. if i use your SM routine in my game, i can imagine some paranoid players calling for SM checks after each npc's phrase. could bog down the roleplaying part a lot. and if their checks bring forth some vague and probably misleading answers from the DM they might feel frustrated because...

    Best Aquatic PrC's (and other stuff) for a Bow Ranger?

    aquatic weapon? [MIC] also stormwrack has some interesting choices for underwater archers, iirc.

    Wood Elf Ranger->Dread Commando help

    sneak attack does stack with sudden strike when conditions for both are met. i think it's well balanced as it is. 2 lvls of rogue should be enough. after that rogue levels don't really benefit your build. i'd go with something like fighter 2/ranger 2/rogue 2 before entering the PrC. for added...

    Wood Elf Ranger->Dread Commando help

    2 lvls of rogue would be neat, +1d6 SA, evasion and skills are all win. if you're getting oversized TWF, better take telling blow too and use scimitars to benefit from your SS and SA.

    Character Build: Buffer/De-buffer

    hexblade 4(dark companion variant)/ paladin of tyranny 2/ blackguard X is actually a kick ass debuffer.

    How do you guys handle Snese Motive?

    yeah, i agree that rolling d20 in the middle of PC-NPC interaction is a huge immersion breaker. every player seeing that DM is rolling dice right after some NPC's reply can't help experiencing certain metagame thoughts "ok, what's he rolling? bluff, sense motive? something MUST be wrong" to...

    Crossing a Plain

    lol... so you have to be a deity to spot someone half a kilometer away on a flat terrain?

    Crossing a Plain

    i really think that 20 is a DC to spot enemies at max. distance.

    Crossing a Plain

    this was covered well in 3.0 DMG. spotting distance (grassland terrain, little cover) - 6d6 x 20ft. base DC to spot = 20. if a creature is hiding (keeping low in the grass, for example) it moves only at half speed and takes -2 penalty to its own spot checks, but base DC to spot it is 25 + Hide...

    no it works continously.

    multi-classing into swordsage.

    i think that for a non-combat primary healer cleric losing a spellcasting level is very very bad. and a swordsage level definetly won't make up for this loss.

    Crying Freeman

    no it's okay. this thread isn't overcrowded so i see no harm in a side-talk. :) well, in mortal playground good and evil mostly act in similiar ways IMC. both need recruiting new souls and disposing of the most dangerous rival champions. paladins (both good and evil) usually serve lawful...

    Crying Freeman

    :confused: okay, i was rude to Starbuck, i've realized that. and apologized. but you, it seems, are just bashing me now. yeah, in our group's camapaigns things are a bit different. good and evil are just two sides of conflict who basicly use the same methods (only good do it with remorse and...

    Stunning Fist and Sneak Attack

    i think prone targets do not lose their dex so you'll have to stun first. nice build idea too. consider taking 1 level of monk and Ascetic Rogue feat (CAdv) - you'll save some feats and get a nice unarmed damage progression.

    Crying Freeman

    now i understand. i didn't mean it in that way and i hope Starbuck didn't take offence. he helped me out a couple of times in other topics and i do appreciate that. agreed. sounds like a good option too, but i imagine him as a more grim and dramatic type (he's hexblade after all). he's a...

    Poisons Help

    Look for craft (poisonmaking) in CAdv p.97 i do. why not? same as creating custom spells - as long as it's not broken its all good.

    Crying Freeman

    it's double jeopardy for me cause english is not my native language. i just ment to say that alignment shifts from CE to good are not credible imo. a sinner can't suddenly become a goody two shoes just because he repented. thanks. what i've come up with as of now: falchion of sudden stunning...

    Crying Freeman

    was i offensive? umm.. well, i apologize starbuck. didn't realize that. and didn't mean to. now i know why this thread's been so silent - no advice to rude people. :)

    Crying Freeman

    i don't follow your logic here. does he have to be good to repent? i think LN or N will do. anyway CE to LG alighment shifts are kinda stupid don't you think? back on topic, please?

    Crying Freeman

    for those who didn't watch that crap - it's about a professional killer who reflexively shed tears after each and every killing. not that i was a big fan but this build just resembles Freeman perfectly. here it is. Hellbred (spirit) hexblade 4/ binder 3/ KotSS 5 Patron Vestige (Focalor)...
