What makes setting lore "actually matter" to the players?

Also entertaining to see where they go with it, I like being surprised.

What makes setting lore "actually matter" to the players?

I like to do it organically: rough framework of a setting, and then let the players flesh it out, finish it off; or maybe I'm just lazy. 😆

Will there ever be new editions of the major systems?

TNE you also became weird robbers/looters eg "space vikings" something which was criticized in the discord just the other day. Too much back then, it was best left alone, otherwise people flip on you.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

One of my friends made out pretty good on Red Hook, bought out by Ambev or someone.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I enjoy eating pizza, more so than making it, and I was a pizza maker for a while. I like different kinds of pizza, though not with Bell Peppers as they give me heartburn, or some sort of allergy to them. My favorite is sausage, mushroom, and onion; maybe not to everyone's liking, but that's...

Worlds of Design: The Warship Trinity

You can do a "west marches" sort of hex crawl with a big spaceship, because it islike a floating town. I did that with a Traveller Kinunir from Adventure 1, a university bought a demobbed one, filled it full of mercs and sent it off to do research work.

Worlds of Design: The Warship Trinity

I was there back then, eurisko was interesting, though more like "rules lawyering" kind of way, for what it did, exploiting loopholes such as self destructing it's own ships. EABA of space combat, probably not. High Guard, and Trillion Credit Squadron were fun supplements, not very RPGish, we...

Worlds of Design: After the Apocalypse

I have run straight Gamma World, other GW adjacent, Aftermath!, Morrow Project, though I have also reached back in time and run 6th Century Rome circa 543AD, it's down to 100,000 from over a million, 90% abandoned, Gothic War raging, Plague of Justinian, and the years without a sun, because of a...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

It's a chain, right? I've eaten at the one on Lombard in SF, and maybe one in Van Nuys iirc.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I have some tats old punk rock stuff like a straight edge/HC "X." Minor Threat was a big favorite band I liked as a kid, saw them a few times.

Worlds of Design: The Warship Trinity

I posted this to mastodon the other day: Space War: "The Enemy is at 50 million kilometers!" A 1/3rd of an AU, around a close pass of Earth and Mars, while visible, it would be roughly NINE MONTHS to engage. Likely just watch, nothing would happen until either side closed range, even if 100%...

What makes setting lore "actually matter" to the players?

Generally it is about one in four players that really cares, and that is fine, the game goes on.
