D&D General The Monsters Know What They're Doing ... Are Unsure on 5e24

You can do that the other way too. Of course WotC has done neither. As a DM I would rather they give me everything and then I and my group can choose to dial it down (like we have). But everything comes at this a bit differently!

D&D General The Monsters Know What They're Doing ... Are Unsure on 5e24

Thank you for the response. I still don't really get it and I can't comment much on this take. I guess that has never been a noncable issue to me (as a DM) since we started playing 1e in the 1980s. Everyone plays the game different. We have never cared much about resource management, tracking...

Thank you for the response. Can you clarify what you man by this:

D&D General The Monsters Know What They're Doing ... Are Unsure on 5e24

That is a bunch of word salad to me (to be clear I am saying that it is to me - not that it definitely is). Like I said, I have not noticed any appreciable difference in play.

D&D General The Monsters Know What They're Doing ... Are Unsure on 5e24

I heard a lot of the same complaint with 4e and 5e14. So what is different with 5e24 IYO? Personally, I am not seeing any real difference in play. I let my players chose whichever book they want to use for their characters. It doesn't matter to me as a DM. I don't feel the 24 PCs are more...

Dungeons & Dragons: Warlock Video Game Announced by Invoke Studios

I'm 52 and I had never heard of rule 34 until this thread. At least I have no memory of hearing about it until now.

Exploring Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn

I just don't really play computer games and I have never owned a gaming system (well not since the first gen or so Atari in the 80s). So it is not likely to change now!

Exploring Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn

Well I never played them so...no influence on my table!

Exploring Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn

Yep, that is it. I am not sure what the issue is - it looks quite good to me.

Exploring Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn

Well it depends on your perspective. I know very little and don't care about Drizzt. I know of Icewind Dale because it is part of the game / setting. I really had no idea Drizzt was connected to Icewind Dale. For me, and others like me, the two are not connected because Icewind Dale is a part...

    Pathfinder 2E Encounter tables

It doesn't appear like it (at least in PF2). This is what I got from the AoN. The only thing that confuses me is that last sentence: ",,,either chose from the list you made for that region or choose your own." Source GM Core pg. 209 2.0 When exploring, there is always a chance the PCs will...

    Dragon Reflections #100

If memory serves me correctly, before 3e the covers rarely and only vaguely had anything to do with the internal contents of the magazine.

D&D General A Rant: DMing is not hard.

Yes, that is about the age I started DMing. However, I just winged it and I was not good at it. Personally I don't think I became a good DM until 4th edition, almost 30 years after I started DMing!

D&D General D&D Dungeon Map Design: Good and Bad

I follow @Sacrosanct's idea and design dungeons that make sense in-world. I also agree with @Reynard that they are not the most fun for D&D when designed that way. That is a big reason I don't use a lot of built dungeons. I am less burdened by my need for rational dungeon design when I design a...

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

I explained in a later post, but what I was against was the OP title suggesting gargoyles had to be redone. I love your idea for gargoyles, I just think they should be an addition to, or as a specific setting replacement, not a replacement for the whole game.

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

no issue with that. i was speaking about D&D generally

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

No. not quite. I m just saying don't "redo," just create something new. If you want to call them gargoyles or "true" gargoyles that is finbe., Just don't get rid of th existing creatures - that is all. Now, i was speaking generally for D&D, you can do whatever you want for a specific setting.
