    Savage Worlds with no combat?

Before his passing the creator made arrangements with Pinnacle for them to take over savaged.us.

Savage Worlds Horror Companion Is More Than A Monster Mash

They reference Call of Cthulhu both in the Cosmic Horror section on page 50 where they talk about ways to run Cosmic Horror games in SWADE utilizing various setting rules including Difficult Healing, Gritty Damage and various new Setting Rules introduced in the Horror Companion. They are...

    Savage Worlds with no combat?

I was just pointing there was some guidance available to build encounters.

    Savage Worlds with no combat?

Page 234 of Savage Pathfinder has a chart with ideas for combat encounter balance. For instance a ‘weaker’ encounter is a Wild Card leader plus 3-4 extra per hero.

The older i get the less I need.

About two months ago one of my irl players (and creator of savaged.us) died of cancer. I was talking to his widow and she had no idea what to do with his 40 years of rpg and tabletop wargaming stuff. I told her when she’s ready to give me a call and I’d help her out with it. I do not want my...

The older i get the less I need.

I’ve been contemplating another purge for the last couple of weeks. I’ve been trying to figure think in terms of what I will actually run (SWADE, GURPS 4e, PF1, WHFRP/IM) vs. things I’ve bought for reference or because they are pretty (Free Leagues stuff, Numenera etc). Ideally I’d like to get...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Ashes Without Number, HEDGE, Cyberpunk RED, and more

I’m a backer on Hedge. Interesting premise and I like what they did with Court of Blades.

What games, currently, have your interest?

I’m giving at least one more score/downtime cycle. Among other things I miss rolling dice. I’m really torn right now between running an Adventure Path in Savage Pathfinder or PF1. Both have their merits. Back on topic though. I did back the kickstarter for Broken Empires. I’m hoping...

What games, currently, have your interest?

It doesn’t. I’ve hacked it for myself. Modern action heroes/spies is something I’ve found SWADE does very well. The Gumshoe ethos translates over, and you can use the vamp/cons-pyramids with anything.

What games, currently, have your interest?

Currently struggling to run Blades in the Dark. PF1: looking at running either Ago or Worms of Shackled City. I’m looking for something classic-ish. Savage Worlds: looking at Achtung! Cthulhu, Nights Black Agents, Masks of Nyarlathotep. Imperium Maledictum: waiting for the inquisition...

How Dragonbane Pointed out the Clashing Desires of My Gaming Group

A little vision of the BBEG floating over his victory might motivate them? Or maybe a cut scene showing his vile deeds somewhere in the vale? I agree with the previous commenter. That’s sounds like a great place to pick up the next chapter.

Playing in Person Is Just Better (for me)

I’m not saying it’s not without merit. Due to some scheduling issues I’m going to have to go find a fourth player. That is going to be much easier online. Also finding a specific niche game to play or run is much easier online. I find the VTTs themselves to be a mixed bag. Sometimes I think...

Slightly scared of AI prototyping (mapmaking fun)

I’ve not been very happy with the maps I’ve gotten from DALL-E. I have used it to generate a very thing from logos for campaigns to images for player characters and NPCs which I’ve benn very happy with. I’ll have to give maps another try with more patience and a better prompt. The massive...

Playing in Person Is Just Better (for me)

I can get a live pick up game going at the FLGS. Owner would love to be able to play and have a group in there on Friday nights. I don’t have the time to prep two games though.

Playing in Person Is Just Better (for me)

I actually think I’d do that virtually too if I could not get a regular live group. My preferred time slot is Tuesday at 7pm to about 10pm. Once we get settled and started it is 7:30 some nights. Not a lot of gaming time. It gets frustrating.

Playing in Person Is Just Better (for me)

In a perfect world I’d be able to run a game for a solid four hours, in person, and very Sunday. Solid gaming. No BS so you’d have to start at like 3:30.

Playing in Person Is Just Better (for me)

I prefer in person to the VTT. We too moved online during the pandemic and have been unable to get back to in-person play. We’ve found the VTT makes scheduling and attendance easier, no one has to drive across town, plan for being away from the house, and so on. That said I’ve been heavily...
