    Kris' miniature thread

That's true - it's only really going to be of use if it is applied to a single encounter area. To be honest I was a little wary about buying a large magnetic white-board, as those things can get rather expensive - especially since I wasn't 100% sure how the whole thing would work out :) The...

If you could only own three or four Dungeon Tiles sets...

There's not much to tell really. I explained things a little over in this post over in the art/mini's forum: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showpost.php?p=4423910&postcount=33 ...and so I'd be happy to try and answer any further questions over there if you like (rather than hijack this thread any...

If you could only own three or four Dungeon Tiles sets...

Agreed :) The tiles that came with games like 'Advanced HeroQuest' were better, but IMO the current WotC line is probably the best (and sturdiest) to date :D (and not all that expensive either). The only real issue I personally have with these dungeon-tiles (or any other tiles for that matter)...

If you could only own three or four Dungeon Tiles sets...

Various companies have put out similar stuff in the past, even GamesWorkshop used to do a few sets a long time ago (on thin cardstock), but yeah it's a pity that WotC didn't come out with the current ('official D&D') line sooner. I remember when I first picked up the 3.0 books and decided to...

If you could only own three or four Dungeon Tiles sets...

It's probably worth mentioning that Dire Tombs is a nice set - but the flooring is a completely different colour to that of the other dungeon sets (and thus not very interchangeable unless you are happy to ignore the fact that some tiles will be a greyish colour and others will be a sandy...

    Kris' miniature thread

This post isn't really about miniatures, but it is related to them, and so I thought I would include it here rather than starting a new thread… Anyway... ...so far I have purchased one of each of the dungeon tile sets that WotC has put out, and on the whole I quite like them (I'm not too...

Do you have these D&D Minis? Rate 'em for me! Pictures welcome!

Not a problem :) Maybe if I had duplicates... (though doubtful - as I'm a bit of a hoarder I'm afraid) but in any case, I only have the one.

Do you have these D&D Minis? Rate 'em for me! Pictures welcome!

I have 4 of the mini's you listed... so here's a quick pic of those: http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l159/csp_kris/klaus1.jpg from left to right... human wanderer / knight of the chalice / Alusair Obarskyr / Ragnara (note that the knight of the chalice looks like a male elf to me) I hope...

How do you like your maps?

As a DM I will generally go a bit overboard with maps of most kinds (i.e. a campaign map, settlement maps, location maps, building maps, dungeon maps) as I like to know what/who is where, and where 'x' is situated in relation to 'y', and how long it would take to get there etc. ...even if such...

    Kris' miniature thread

This one has been lying around in my box of shame (my tub of unpainted metal) for years now - and I can't even remember where/when I got it or who the manufacturer is. It was obviously meant to be the cerberus (or something very similar - i.e. a large three headed hound), but the miniature came...

    Kris' miniature thread

Anyway, back to more 'regular' sized mini's... Next up are a few (more) goblinoid types, which I've attempted to paint reasonably quickly (especially the grunt/mook types) - just to get some paint on them. Captain Lórenz and his personal guard: The largest of these is a Ral Partha 'gargantua...

    Kris' miniature thread

I mentioned over in another post that I've been painting a few more miniatures recently, and so I thought I'd post a few pic's of them here (and add them growing list). First off are some 10mm miniatures (yeah these guys are really small). Basically, I have recently got hold of the HotT...

Some maps & artwork from my campaign.

Yeah, that's on the to-do list :D ...it's just that right now, I'm going through a bit of a miniatures painting fad - so that's keeping me busy :) However, I do plan on working on a new town map soon - and when I draw out these settlements I usually have an idea (at least a sketch) of what the...

The 10 building maps I jus posted? If so... once again it's good ole Draw 4 (and a tiny bit of photoshopping) :)

Thanks. There would still be some things that need changing (like making the floorboards a little smaller for a start), but I'm not sure about the whole thing anymore, and I might abandon the idea for a while. In contrast, here's some other (I guess more 'classic' style) building maps I've been...

Some maps & artwork from my campaign.

OK... this isn't really something I have used yet... but I have been thinking about putting a few maps together (for use with miniatures) for a few different size/shape buildings. I was going to try and keep them relatively small and simple (i.e. big enough to fit onto a single sheet of paper)...

Some maps & artwork from my campaign.

As I hinted at above, I've kinda separated the gods into two opposed factions in my own world, and as such I wanted to make the emblems of the 'evil' gods a little different. So here's what I've come up with today: Nex / Ocissio / Vigilax One-eye / Susurro / Regno the Accursed (Nerull /...

Some maps & artwork from my campaign.

I managed to finish up the last of the non-evil deities last night... and so all together they now look something like this: Anyone interested as to which emblem represents which god can find a list that starts on the following page of my campaign website...

Some maps & artwork from my campaign.

I've had a look at some screenshots of inkscape in the past, and it looks pretty similar to Draw4. Here is a screen capture of my Draw4 interface for you to compare: http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l159/csp_kris/draw4.jpg (that's kind of what the image looks like before I export to a bitmap...
