Ravenloft: The Horrors Within Announced, Release Date Scheduled for June 2026

Vecna was a Dark Lord at one stage. I guess he's pretty big being a god.

D&D Announces Full Slate of Peripheral Products, Including Tarokka Decks, Map Packs, and Reference Cards

They sound like a similar size to the Revamped ones. Apparently they were 3.75" x 5.25".

D&D Announces Full Slate of Peripheral Products, Including Tarokka Decks, Map Packs, and Reference Cards

It will be interesting to see what they do with the Tarokka deck. What size it will be and if it will have new art. I think the previous Gale Force Nine one retailed for $10 USD. Was the Tarokka deck from the Revamped set the only ones released so far that were larger than playing card size...

The 5 'Tiers' of TTRPG Publishing

It would be interesting to know what figures mean your company is in a healthy position. For example, the “impression” I get from various posts and comments about Steve Jackson Games is that they can only afford to pay the bills and therefore don’t innovate much on some of their product lines -...

    Does anyone have Kickstarter regrets?

I’ve backed many but will only mention my first and most recent: My first Kickstarter was in 2012 for the Numenera RPG. It was a 10/10 campaign and 10/10 product but I’m not really into sci-fi/fantasy so I shouldn’t have backed it. I was just coming out of 3E and a big Monte Cook fan. I sold it...

    Does anyone have Kickstarter regrets?

I guess most of the stuff I've backed I will never run - it's more to collect. That's OK. If it's a beautifully executed product, I'll add it proudly to the bookshelf. Sometimes I shouldn't have backed something, though, as I'm not really into the genre or setting after all and have later sold...

    Does anyone have Kickstarter regrets?

I’m thinking regrets after the campaign was fulfilled rather than overdue Kickstarters. There’s a separate thread on that here. Maybe you’ve been caught up in the hype and you’ve put down your hard-earned money but then, once the product is delivered, you wish you hadn’t of done it. This might...

Here Are 2026's Most Anticipated TTRPGs... As Voted By You!

I never heard of Deathbringer before or Professor DM/Dungeon Craft. I've seen his videos come up in my feed but have been scared to watch as the titles seemed very click-baity. I watched my first today to see what Deathbringer is. From my understanding it is a self-contained RPG that is an...

Kickstarter [Kobold Press] Night Hunters: Gothic Horror for TOV and 5E D&D - FINAL HOURS!

I might be interested in this. I don't own any other KP stuff so it will be a first for me. Is the Night Hunters Oracle Deck a full tarot deck (78 cards) or its own custom thing? Does Midgaard have a Ravenloft realm - like Golarion has Ustalav? I wonder how this will compare to Van Richten's...

    Intrusive Ads

I don't know any other RPG site with the pop-up ads. They are so annoying and aggressive. But I guess the sentiment is that you pay for no ads which I guess is fair enough.

D&D 5E (2014) Lord of the Rings 5E Is Coming Next Month

Is the Lord of the Rings Roleplaying core rules based on the 2014 edition or 2024 edition D&D ruleset? It looks like it was published in 2023 but the copy I was perusing in store the other day was a "second printing" published 2024. Have they updated anything in the second printing?

New One Ring and Lord of the Rings Starter Sets Launching at Gen Con

It's interesting how the 5E version has a different name and different artwork. Most publishers would just keep the same name (The One Ring) and stick a "compatible with 5E" badge at the bottom of the 5E version.

New One Ring and Lord of the Rings Starter Sets Launching at Gen Con

I was just wondering if the 5E adventures have more combat focus than the TOR version. Or if that's not the case and the 5E adventures are simply a pure conversion - and exploration and combat are exactly the same as the TOR version.

New One Ring and Lord of the Rings Starter Sets Launching at Gen Con

Is the 5E version a straight conversion of The One Ring (just with different artwork)? Or do they dial up the combat in the 5E conversion?

D&D General Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford Join Darrington Press

How is the new game going? Are there many people playing it? I must admit I haven't been following it but I might investigate it now. Surely it can't be too bad if it gets the backing of Perkins/Crawford?

Would ACKS be a good fit to capture the BECMI-feel?

That's a fair point. I guess to feel like you're a part of something that is a "contemporary" system that's being supported and updated. And hopefully the new system will be a cleaner more streamlined experience.

Would ACKS be a good fit to capture the BECMI-feel?

That would be a bit of a turn off if it were too "spreadsheety". But I guess it would be hard to write a system on domain management without it involving some kind of bookkeeping.

Would ACKS be a good fit to capture the BECMI-feel?

Thanks for all the info, folks! What about the short rest/long rest paradigm? Does it have a mechanic like that? And what about healing? Does it implement anything to mitigate magical healing being abused? For example Worlds Without Number has a System Strain mechanic to help with this, I...

Would ACKS be a good fit to capture the BECMI-feel?

[I know this is a banned RPG on a couple of sites. I don’t know the full details of why it’s banned but I’m currently investigating to make an informed decision. For the purposes of this thread, though, I’d just like to learn more about the game system. I will do my own research on the...
