Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yeah, but think about all the bear attacks not listed that left people wishing they were dead.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I just realized I get Ryujin and Scribe mixed up in this thread. Not because they necessarily post similarly, but because my brain has a weird thing with using profile pics to identify posters and then confusing those pics if they look remotely like each other (in their case, two masked figures).

    D&D 5E (2014) Popular death/dying house rules in 2026?

You wouldn't be surprised to learn that playing dead (and checking to see if someone is truly dead) happens with some regularity in my games.

    D&D 5E (2014) Popular death/dying house rules in 2026?

You remain conscious as long as you have fewer death save fails than successes. However, you immediately fall prone and can only crawl (half speed), lose concentration on any spell, cannot cast any spell with concentration, and are dazed (which means you can only take an action [or bonus action]...

Why do so many campaigns never finish? Genuinely curious what others think

Kids are overbooked these days which means parents are the ones that suffer.

Why do so many campaigns never finish? Genuinely curious what others think

I do have to add that the amount of time in-game matters more to me than the time out of game. We recently realized in December in one of my games that we had not had a long rest since July (5 sessions) because 18 to 24 hours had not passed in game yet! Which we found hilarious but not game...

Why do so many campaigns never finish? Genuinely curious what others think

Yeah, I guess if we were playing weekly 3 hour sessions, then 70 sessions would be a year and half. Except of course, that if we played that frequently we'd probably slow down a little more and enjoy some the things we do gloss over now just for the sake of "expediency" (with "Expediency"...

Why do so many campaigns never finish? Genuinely curious what others think

This is funny to me because I often have the opposite question. How can people play 1 to 10 or even 1 to 20 level D&D campaigns in a year or so? I give what seems to be above standard XP to my groups (unless I am totally misunderstanding how 5E wants you to give out XP in terms of amounts) and...

Why do so many campaigns never finish? Genuinely curious what others think

I've been lucky that in most of my adulthood playing RPGs, starting in college (so discounting middle school and HS days), I have had a pretty dedicated core group of players (though that core group changed about once per decade). So while occasionally one person dropped out or disappeared, we...

    D&D 5E (2024) New Campaign: Should I make the switch to 5.5?

This. Except replace ToV with Level Up A5E or whatever other flavor of 5e or all of the above mixed and matched.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

When someone says a book is about a singular thing and nothing else (or that is all that matters to "understand" it), I know I can probably safely discount their opinion on literature or most pieces of art/culture.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Oh yeah, to me everything after "objectively" is just a Charlie Brown adult talking.

There may be no word I detest to hear more when discussing D&D than "should."
