If Enworld built a car, it would have options to drive it automatic or manual drive, front, back or 4 wheel drive capability, and run on gas, electric, or a crank in the front for those who still want to hand start it. I don't think I would trust committee design for a game either.

It's gonna get Dark Sun first and then reprinted in something generic later like the Artificer. That way they can use it pump sales of Dark Sun to people who otherwise wouldn't use the setting and then later reprint it.

What non-profit game are you playing? I assume something like Basic Fantasy who releases all there rules for free and changes pod print rates at-cost and never see a dime of profit unless you donate so them.
