    The Seven Cities of Gold

My thoughts: Atlantis: City of Mercury. you've got the whole sunken, watery city going on, you might as well pair it with liguid metal. Shangri-la: City of Pearl. I don't know why, but this fits to my mind. Pristine, pure... perhaps the pearls are assoctaed with clouds? Maybe Shangri-la has...

Ceramic DM - Spring 2005 (Late Bloomer) - We have a winner.

BSF posted at 1:51 PM our time. He and I are in the same time zone, so we'll both have the same expectations/restrictions/feelings/whatever on times.

Ceramic DM - Spring 2005 (Late Bloomer) - Signups complete

Just got back from a weekend without much internet access (which will be pretty standard for my summer) and wanted to chime in that as far as judging, I am ready to go. As BSF alluded to, we're aiming for 4 day turn around on judgements, but I want to warn everybody in advance that weekends may...

    Worst...Idea...Ever

Well, I think I can just let Kamakazie Midget post my thoughts for me. He does it better anyway. ;) Seriously, I agree with KM. It's all a matter of stories you tell. For me, they work fine.

    Worst...Idea...Ever

Perhaps. But to my mind, it fits better then a hair band reject with a airbrushed dragon. ;) I guess it's a matter of taste, but I think WotC knew who they wer targetting: younger gamers that don't want a game with art that looks it came from the side of their parent's old van.

    Worst...Idea...Ever

Exactly what I was trying to say. good to know I'm not the only one that doesn't mind Dungeon Punk.

    Worst...Idea...Ever

I have to chime in to say that I, for the most part, don't mind the 'Dungeon Punk' look. Maybe its because I'm younger (3rd ed was my first real D&D experience), but it doesn't turn me away. It doesn't draw me in as much as some really well done, mythic flavor stuff does, but it does work better...

    Worst...Idea...Ever

It's been said before, but 3.5 weapon sizing (as opposed to 3.0). I just liked absolute sizes, where a weapon has a size that you compare to the user to determine how easily it can be used. It made sense. In 3.5, you now have to worry about "Is it exactly my size" instead of "Is it close enough...

What is your favorite rpg/supplement for humor?

Paranoia XP: Flashbacks. The core rules are great, but these modules are wonderfully funny and rat-bastardly. Just reading some of this stuff (Invisible Commies! Submarines!) cracks me up.

Ah Yes, Google. I use it for reaserch. I use it for names. Sometimes, it even makes a decent spellchecker.

Let's not have anymore discussion of this, okay? I think BSF asked that we move on to more CDM related stuff, which seems like a reasonable request. If this disucssion really must continue, move it to another thread. Anyway, what I use for writing? Well... reading mostly. Ihave this horrible...

Yeah, it does. Wow, I;ve really sidetracked this thread. Sorry bout that. :heh:

    Fireborn

That's probably a good way to do it, but I'm kind of brain dead while I'm at work, which means I think words like 'exotic' should be added everywhere. And there is kind of 'standard' d20, things like d20 Modern or Spycraft. Things that are very close to D&D.
  17. Macbeth

    Fireborn

Exotic d20. Like Exotic Dancing ;) Really, I just wanted to imply something that's not 'standard' d20, but still has a whole lot in common with the d20 system, like Mutants and Masterminds.

    Fireborn

Dang it. between this and Capes, I think my wallet may be hurting. I've also been moving further away from d20, either into some of the more exotic d20-based games (like mutants and masterminds) or totally non-d20 stuff (like In Nomine and Paranoia XP). One thing that I've noticed is that, in...

Should/could there be an IronPC tournament?

Perhaps borrow a page from Ceramic DM and include a picture, preferably something with lots of little details? Anyways, I like the idea, but I wouldn't do it anytime soon. I'm helping out with the current Ceramic DM, so I'm a bit busy, but if it became a seasonal event, I might end up trying...

The secrets behind the Engel RPG

Wow. Sounds like something I'd like, at least for the flavor. I may have to look for a copy.
