    D&D 5E (2014) What's D&D's closest equivalent to buzzard-people?

I think the Dire Corby is specifically supposed to be a monstrous humanoid based on vultures.

"I'd be for hiding the wagon and seeing if we can track them," Vottr says.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana probably coming to D&D website (Reddit AMA)

My reading of Mearls' explanation was that the player's source is a separate book from the adventure, so you can get the players' options without having to buy the adventure itself.

"It ain't over 'til I'm knowing me uncle is safe!" Vottr exclaims. "Still, I ain't one for rushin' in without a plan or at the risk of makin' a bigger mess. I may have me a thick skull, but I ain't no idjit."

Vottr retrieves his axes, wiping the gore from the blades on the fallen goblins' clothing. "Serves ye right, ye nasty little gobbers," he grumbles.

D&D 5E (2014) It's October 1. Do you known where your spell cards are?

Again - genius move by WotC on licensing and outsourcing. We're all upset at GF9.

OOC: HP total noted. Didn't quite catch that it was the goblin on me killed by the others. If I need to revise my action let me know.

    MiPS Lost Mine [IC]

"Hmph!" Vottr snorts with a cruel grin, stepping heavily on the dead goblin before him as he moves towards Brachnuss and readies to throw an axe if the last goblin pops up again. OOC: By my calculations, I have 8 hp remainin. Let me know if I'm wrong.

    D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk?

The 5e PHB presents humans, dwarves, elves, and halflings as common races and dragonborn, gnomes, tieflings, half-elves, and half-orcs as less common, but doesn't really quantify what that means. It encourages players to make sure their DM is okay with them using an uncommon race before doing...

D&D 5E (2014) The Pendulum: Player Entitlement & DM Empowerment

To be clear, I don't think that the DM vs. player dynamic is the norm and did not intend to overstate it's frequency. But it does occur and will continue to do so from time to time. My hope is that 5e has learned form history and can help keep that to a minimum, knowing full well it's not...

D&D 5E (2014) DM purposely gimping my Warlock

Slightly tangential from the thread topic, but man, now I really want to play Ravenloft.

D&D 5E (2014) The Pendulum: Player Entitlement & DM Empowerment

So, let me start off by saying my purpose is not to start any sort of edition war, nor bait everyone into a DM vs. Player slugfest. However, I am curious about something I have perceived in both tabletop and online play, as well as online discussions. I think some would say that 3e/4e was an...

D&D 5E (2014) It's October 1. Do you known where your spell cards are?

I may cancel my miniature market order if nothing moves soon on their end. I love the discount, but at some point it's not worth as much for the delay if others can get them headed my way.

D&D 5E (2014) DM purposely gimping my Warlock

FWIW, "2 short rests per day, with at least 8 hours between them" is redundant, assuming you take at least one long rest each 24 hours. Your long rest is 8 hours, leaving 16 other hours in the day. If there has to be at least 8 hours between short rests, that only leaves 2 possible before the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk?

I recall when 4e was released, reading a blog by a teacher who was going to teach some of his students who preferred to stay inside at recess how to play. Being a long-term gamer he was going to use Greyhawk as the setting and decided to simply have dragonborn come from someplace off the main...

    D&D 5E (2014) Array v 4d6: Punishment? Or overlooked data

When my home group embarked on 5e, we each rolled a set of random stats with the option to default to the standard array if we didn't like our results. So you got to take a chance on exceptional scores and then had an opt out if the results were abysmal. Out of all the characters created...
