Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

I actually compiled a list of the other gods mentioned! There's a lot, which I love! The section on the Faerûnian Pantheon mentions that there's lots of smaller, regional divinities. I just find it funny that the mention of Hoar doesn't mention his role or portfolio at all! Here's my list, if...

I like Hoar. I think every pantheon needs a god of schadenfreude.

D&D General Is the SCAG Still Useful?

I agree with the organizational issues. The Sword Coast map being in the introduction, and the list of Lord's Alliance leaders not being in the Lord's Alliance section, are... choices

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

Weird that the Order of the Gauntlet section mentions the god Hoar, but that's one of the gods that didn't make it from the SCAG to this book. (I am unsure if I mentioned this already, apologies if I did! 😅)

D&D General Is the SCAG Still Useful?

So, I picked up the SCAG from my Friendly Local Library, and I loved it so much that I had to grab myself a copy from my Friendly Local Game Store!! I am planning a campaign that'll involve Najara and Elturgard, so the lore in the SCAG is very useful! There's a bit in Heroes of Faerûn about...

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

And the high priest of Gond is the High Artificer. Most of his worshippers are inventors who are definitely Artificers, even if not called that explicitly.

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

Hmm! Same name for sure, but I feel it's a reference to the inventor named Deryan who is featured in Adventures in Faerûn's Calimshan section. I could be wrong though!

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

I could see them not including Artificers when Eberron: Forge of the Artificer was yet to be released, perhaps? But the other restrictions I agree are odd. Deryan is a Ranger? I had no idea

D&D General Species of Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Wondered if that'd be the case!! Thank you so much!!

...So, how's the shifters? Any major changes?

Good point! Thank you for this!!

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

I run a monthly 5e 2024 one shot for teens at my local library, where I work! Today, I had my latest session, a Level 3 mission in the Underdark below a mine in the Vast, in Faerûn! There are 6 players: two Bards, a Rogue, a Ranger, and a Monk, all of whom are teens, and all of who I've...

A Deep Dive into Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun

I made happy lil noises when I saw all the factions in this, I will admit it.

D&D 5E (2024) Create Undead in monster stat blocks

That makes so much sense! I agree, encounter building is always a bit... wonky... so adding a bunch of Undead that might not even make it into the encounter isn't wise. After all, having the Dead Three Scion NPC use one of their once per day spells to do that instead of using the multiattack...

D&D 5E (2024) Create Undead in monster stat blocks

I've noticed that some of the 2025 monsters in the new Adventures in Faerûn books have "Create Undead" as spells they can cast, including Sammaster, who can cast it at 8th level. Reading the spell, if I were to run one of these monsters, would I include the Undead (ghouls, mostly) that the spell...

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

I wish there was more on Vaasa in this, too! The Warlock Knights are so freaking cool, and I think it would be fun to see them in 5e. It is odd that Vaasa is mentioned in passing only in relation to its border with Damara, honestly.

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

Looking at the poster map, the Elfharrow must not be a thing anymore? All the cities are back where it would've been before. It appears that Lapaliiya is a nation again, just without being called such:

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

I never noticed it!! Thank you for the heads up!! EDIT: To be honest, I hadn't taken the poster map out... I always am so anxious about doing so, but I decided to go ahead, and I see that Halruua and Luiren are both mentioned!! Thanks for giving me the impetus to do that!
