D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

Based on the D&D Beyond monster listings, there's a Noggle Ransacker and a Noggle Wild Mage!

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

Maybe it was meant for a cat! 🤣

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

Ahhh, that also tracks! There's a reason that sort of thing sells well. Thank you!!

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

This makes sense, as the art does have that sort of jocular buddy tone. One of the pieces has Shadowheart and Astarion betting on the outcome of a practice fight between Karlach and Garmult, for example.

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

That's incredibly ominous... am I about to have my own Dead Dove moment? 😂 Sure, let's hear it

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

What I find odd (as someone who hasn't played BG3 yet) is that Astarion, Shadowheart, and Karlach aren't the only companion characters, yet they're the only ones depicted in the books? There's more art of Hank from the cartoon than of any of the other companions. I have no strong feelings one...

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

Sounds like a "Dead dove; do not eat" moment

D&D 5E (2024) Orc lore in the new Forgotten Realms books?

Aglarond is weird in this for that reason: they mention human-elf marriages being common, but there's no mention of the children of such unions.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

I assumed that was Elminster's Para-elemental Plane of Ooze counterpart!

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

Oh, and one of those Origin Feats (Vampire's Plaything) has an option for the player, with DM consent, to have a telepathic tie to their former vampire master! A really cool idea, IMO!

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

There are 16 in total! 3 are Origin Feats, and 3 are Epic Boons, leaving 10 General Feats! I quite like them, there's a nice mix of cool ideas in them, reflecting both vampires and vampire hunters!

D&D General More Details Revealed for Forgotten Realms Digital Expansions

Having bought both supplements, I'd say that although Netheril's Fall has more meat to it, I'll be using Astarion's Book of Hungers more in my campaigns. The monsters and feat options in the latter feel more applicable, although I do love the new magical environmental hazards in the former!

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

I'm planning on using phaerimm pretty extensively as baddies in my upcoming campaign in Faerûn, so I'm thankful for the phaerimm elder stat block. Glad to have a Boss Level stat block for these iconic monsters!

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

I really do like what is in here, for what it's worth!! The harvester and speaker devils were nice surprises to see back, and I'll definitely use both of them! The vampiric feats are great as well, I have players who love vampires and who will enjoy using them with their dhampir characters...
