D&D General Extra Life Charity D&D Accessories - With possible hints for the Forgotten Realms books?

It does look like Thay got burnt to the ground... I doubt anyone in Rashemen would complain

D&D General Extra Life Charity D&D Accessories - With possible hints for the Forgotten Realms books?

There's new Extra Life Charity items for sale! The D&D offerings this year are centred around a map of Faerûn by Andrew Kolb, who had art appear in Dragon Delves earlier this year!! Kolb's distinctive style is very cute, and I've noticed a few possible hints for the upcoming Forgotten Realms...

    D&D 5E (2024) Views on 24 MM/SRD monster mechanics now

You have a good point! Lots of spells do have additional effects than just damage, and you want the DM to know that. Just putting the damage down wound discourage that investigation and reading. I have the feeling that part of the reason WoTC did this is that it encourages D&D Beyond usage...

Wolves killing a person are like the Lonely Island?

    D&D 5E (2024) Views on 24 MM/SRD monster mechanics now

Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft had the Loup Garou, an advanced werewolf that has a regeneration trait that heals it unless it is damaged by silver weapons. I had assumed WoTC would use that trait for the base werewolf, and was a bit flabbergasted that they didn't.

Weirdly, there are some exceptions, like the Empyrean, which does have BPS resistance.

    D&D 5E (2024) Views on 24 MM/SRD monster mechanics now

I am a big fan of a lot of the changes! I like the spellcasting for the post part (although I might've preferred they put the damage dice for certain spells like Fireball in the stat block instead of putting "Fireball (level 5 version)"), and I like the damage and effect riders on many of the...

Dhampir and Other Species To Be Included in Astarion's Book of Hungers

I do monthly D&D one shots for teens, and I always make October's extra Spooky. I wish this was coming out a bit before Hallowe'en, but alas. Super excited for more vamps!

D&D General Oh Please give me some Happy Backgrounds!!

This is an excellent piece of advice! "No person is an island" is a saying for a good reason, and this mindset allows for creative development of bonds, in a meaningful way!! (This is my way of thanking you for the advice I'm about to steal! 😁)

D&D General Oh Please give me some Happy Backgrounds!!

Some of my favourite PCs I've played have been motivated by wanderlust and academic curiosity. I love the idea of a character who wants to learn more about the magical world they live in, as it's a desire that I have myself! I am curious to a fault, so I make characters like that! I also make...

So, we know that each of these deities are going to get the Theros treatment: rules for benefits for following them, that sort of thing. I'm excited to find out how they figure ways to make it work for each god! Asmodeus being one of them provides a neat way for a PC to be a devil worshipper...

    D&D 5E (2024) What should the 15th Class be?

Are there any old classes that are tied to settings? Artificer was Eberron, and Psion is likely Dark Sun. I wonder if they'll continue this pattern in the future? I do think Warlord would make the most sense, it's got the most recognizable name and concept I've heard, and it has the fan demand...

I think this ties in with how the new 2024 DMG's approach to Gods and alignment, with a focus on a god's outer plane as an indicator of tendency towards alignment, but not a hard and fast rule.

My understanding is that Shaundakul is the god of travellers and explorers, so "the Way" might be a poetic way of referring to that?
