    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

I think the reason you're not seeing brokenness by removing concentration is due to the fact combats are over pretty quickly. When you have three rounds, spending 2/3 of those rounds casting buff spells aren't worth it. I can see issues later on though when your group gets more scouting...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

One of the guys I play with basically does this already, although he will boost his primary stat to 20. Apart from that he loves being feat heavy. The difference is I've noticed is his characters tend to be more 'well rounded', albeit they usually suffer on hit points, but he gets good AC and...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

Druids get some really nice battlefield control spells, and their spell list seems more tailored to it. For example, Moonbeam is a great little spell to use in Dungeons, very effective at controlling the battlefield, and the damage scales really well. Higher levels casting it as a 3rd-4th level...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

I think if you just banned GMW, SS, and Crossbow Expert you'll be fine. High Level 5e doesn't feel like high level 3e, where characters are all buffed up to the wazoo and adding +100 to their modifiers. There's already checks and balances in the game built in to prevent that. You feel like more...

Battlefield control is now in the hands of Druids.

    Compiling WOLFGANG BAUR's AMA

Yeah. I build a lot of NPCs because I'm converting 3rd edition content, and they love their monsters with templates and/or class levels. It's hard to reskin those, especially at the higher levels since there's a lack of content the higher the CR in the monsters manual. Spell casters take the...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

I find 5e multiclassing is filled with agonizing choices now. There are some, but few "must have" choices, unlike 3rd edition multi-classing which allowed you to construct characters with very few weaknesses. I don't find level dipping is common - there are some but few exceptions, and I...

    Compiling WOLFGANG BAUR's AMA

Even for me just more villain templates and BBEG NPC's that are CR10+, it would save me SO much time.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

There's quite a lot of problems with all this, I'm not going to break them down individually, because there are a few high level points to consider. The point is that it's far more effective to buff the GMW/SS fighter because his base damage is so high, that increasing his chance to hit pays...

    Compiling WOLFGANG BAUR's AMA

Interesting that he says he likes deadly encounters. He sure does! I want a MM2 and NPC codex as well. Especially some higher CR NPCs. I've created about 30 CR10-20 NPCs now and its time consuming work. I also want to see someone else's take on high level NPC design in 5e.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

It has clarified though that you can't use a shield and a hand crossbow, which is a good thing. I'd say it's gone sideways rather than been boosted. I also think you can only use the bonus action for one extra attack. I'm not sure if you're saying that or not.in your post. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

Pretty consistent with my experiences with SS as well. The more buffs you have, the wider the margin, due to your base damage being much higher to begin with. KarinsDads numbers are basically the worst case scenario, not the only case scenario.

Yeah fair enough then. Welcome to the interwebs. ;)

    D&D 5E (2014) Classes Rated By Tier

.....which was in response to a guy who claimed at level 20, those feats weren't that good. And I never claimed that it was broken in general, and I also stated in one post the balance is pretty good overall Context is everything. I'm arguing that there's basically nothing the War Cleric can...

    D&D 5E (2014) Classes Rated By Tier

My experience with the Lore Bard is they keep getting better and better. Cutting words is really nice at later levels when things hit you HARD. They also start to get more magical secrets picks, but these picks can make or break the class. You're right though with 7 PC's their ability to shine...

    D&D 5E (2014) Classes Rated By Tier

Avatar of Battle is a level 17 ability. You're arguing the merits of a class based on an ability that most people will never use? I agree it's awesome and makes the War Cleric awesome... but at level 17. I'm purposely ignoring it for this very reason. The Light Cleric comparison isn't really...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

In my other game (Level 16 at present) that I run, the party does cast such spells (not foresight yet) on the Paladin. That is a normal campaign with magic items, potions are abundant - many of which don't require concentration. He kicks arse, but it's no where near as strained, and he even has...

    D&D 5E (2014) Classes Rated By Tier

So what you're trying to say is you don't attack but cast spells. All this talk of Greatswords and 20 str/20 wisdom builds are moot, because you're actually a 20 Wisdom Cleric who casts shillelagh and relies on a d8+wisdom damage. That's fine and a clever way to get around the War Clerics...

    D&D 5E (2014) Classes Rated By Tier

    1. You can't assume magic items. I've read through a couple of official modules now and they have very few magic weapons in them. If you do assume magic items, that changes things, but it's far too open to come to any robust conclusion. Yes, you gain access to magic weapon spell, but there's...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

I've just looked on roll20 and can't find the campaign, so I think the DM may have deleted it. However it was just an EK17, standard array. I do still have access to this guy though, who was a Ftr11 (champion)/Sorc6. Arguably more fun to play, more versatile, but a bit less powerful due to less...
