Pathfinder 2E So I Played Pathfinder 2nd Edition! Plus UKGE Back To #3!

:heh: I was just re-reading an Iron Druid short story by Kevin Hearne. Now I've got Oberon, Pathfinder goblins, and hot dogs/sausages all mixed up. The fact the the dog slicer pictured is labeled "Dog Dicer" doesn't help, wrapping right back around into the RPG. Strange ironies ...

D&D 5E (2014) Character Backstories: Care to share?

Nevvur. Delightful! It immediately called to mind Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, and that wizard's dealings with the Fey. Your take on the world of faerie is great entertainment. I love Nav's background, and the tale your DM and your group is weaving.

    Caliban. Wow ... Jack Frostbrand. That ain't a background. It's a Masterpiece.

D&D 5E (2014) Character Backstories: Care to share?

My general inclination is to avoid nasty archetypes like the Oath of Conquest Paladin (I don't want to feed my inner Master of the Universe ambitions) but occasionally just have to take such a perspective out for a test drive. Broc Abrams: Your Jenova concept is well-realized, and certainly...

Anyone else get their Trudvang chronicles? Mine arrived today.

I got mine the same day. I'm among the fortunate; a gouge on the shipping package barely scratched the slip case. Still learning how to wrap my brain around the character creation rules.

The never ending story of ...

Oh, yeah! I had to give up on trying to choose between the "Give XP ... " link and the "Laugh with this ... " link. You aren't making this easy. I'm just reading through for now to catch up.

The never ending story of ...

*Uh ... this tale is being constructed as a cautionary tale for would-be DMs, right? It's certainly got an ambient "Required Reading" vibe going.

    D&D 5E (2014) Will Xanathar's Guide to Everything hit #1 on Amazon?

Okay. We can do that. But first I've got to get my copy. And slake my thirst. This slavering anticipation, my face pressed to the window of a local brick-&-mortar book store, involves a lot more drooling than I expected.

    D&D 5E (2014) Creating new spells

@Mohammed Al-hashimi: I like the spell. One minor edit: as a general rule, spells that can become permanent by repeated casting specify the amount of time the repetition must continue, usually for 1 year. In addition, for the permanent well, I would suggest that the benefit of the restored...

Exploring Forbidden Lands – A Preview of The Free League’s New Fantasy RPG

I'm still dazed from helping proof-read Riot Minds' Trudvang Chronicles. Now, another tantalizing offer from the land of lutefisk. Oof-da!

What are you reading - Sep 2017

An intriguing observation. When it comes to books, I generally choose fiction. The more serious reading I do comes in the form of magazines: Scientific American, Discover, New Scientist, and Science News being the usual suspects, with occasional dips into Sierra (the Sierra Club) and Stand...

    Cursed Items in 2nd edition?

My dwarf PC in the The One Ring game I'm playing in is enjoying the same distinction. Picked up a plain, dwarf-sized iron ring in the Mirkwood, and failed my roll against the Shadow taint. That's one small step toward Sauron for the PC, one giant dismayed gulp for the Player.

    D&D 5E (2014) [5e] Book of Righteous

Green Ronin should thank you. I voted "thinking about buying it" due to 1) you brought it to my attention, and 2) your favorable review.

D&D 5E (2014) Noticing an unseen hidden character by touching?

Exactly. Some years ago, there was something going around where the question was: if you had a choice of being able to fly or to turn invisible, which would you prefer? I'm firmly in the "flying" camp. The major problem with invisibility is other creatures unwittingly entering the space of the...

D&D 5E (2014) Noticing an unseen hidden character by touching?

I'd make the hide check be at disadvantage, since they have already come to the attention of the creature that bumped into them. Also, invisibility affects the behavior of light around the invisible creature(s) or object(s). It doesn't alter odors in any way.
