    [NEXT] Reclaiming Blingdenstone

"I'd suggest taking the most direct route to the forge" says Ojor. "I'm ready to leave as soon you're too The map's url doesn't work for some reason, but I remember that there were essentially two routes to the guild of armorers cavern, one through a smaller cavern and the other through other...

Voyages of Sinbad - experimental narrative system.

I don't know if two players is going to be enough, and personally I have enough pbp to keep me busy, so I'm for letting the whole thing die quietly.

    [NEXT] Reclaiming Blingdenstone

"This place is a defensive nightmare" declares Ojor. "Too many ways of access, no way to funnel attackers into a disadvantageous position. Your only chance is to destroy any threat before reaches the main city." "Looks like we're heading for the Forge, then. Let's waste no more time"

[DND NEXT] So are we allowed to do this play by post now?

We might as well use this thread about playtest impressions. I liked how the initial choosing of background can help with roleplaying - I'm a soldier and my sheet says so, so it's reasonable to think I know about fortifications. However, the benefits are perhaps too well defined; I got three...

    [NEXT] Reclaiming Blingdenstone

Ojor removes the hood of his chainmail, so he can scratch his neach and his receeding hairline. "Lots of work indeed. If you want to protect the settlement, you'll need an advance defensive position, which means an initial assault - I guess that's what you brought us here for. I'm ready when...

    D&D 5E (2014) You can't necessarily go back

I miss rulebooks that are interesting to read. Something with spells like this: Mordenkainen's apprentice's brother in law's spherical apocalypse of fiery destruction: By invoking this powerful dweomer the conjurer creates a small ball of shining fire, the exact size of a pea only slightly...

Why all the hate for Turn Undead?

Turn undead seems to be one of these concepts that big IPs love to overextend until they become absurd - all undead are the same and can be turned, so that turning must be some quality that's harmful to them. Let's call it positive energy, so they are powered by negative energy, which in turn...

    Wotc Sorcerer Fluff - Poll

I feel it's too specific. It's a good writing for a given campaign setting or the equivalent of a prestige class, but not for a base class. I'd like to have a wizard "equivalent" without Vancian casting as an alternative - less flavor loaded class abilities, easier to adapt to standard settings...

    D&D 4E Seeking 4e PbP advice

I'd suggest checking the living fourth edition pbp forums here about this. Basically, 4e pbp faces the following troubles: Initiative. This is common to many systems, but in 4e may be problematic since your actions are much more likely to be dependent on what the previous characters do...

[DND NEXT] So are we allowed to do this play by post now?

It's in the Magic section, Casting a spell. "Unless a spell's description says otherwise, a spell requires you to chant mystic words and complete intrncate hand motions with at least one of your hands.[...] Thus if you are silenced or don't have a hand free, you cannot cast a spell"

Uniting the Editions: How well did this playtest packet do?

The mechanics retained are just window dressing or just name only. 5e doesn't retain any of 4e's main strengths (specially combat) and the core philosophy is the opposite; multiply mechanics instead of having a coherent one, regress to old mechancis instead of moving it forward.
