    D&D 5E (2014) Revisiting Storm King's Thunder

Like, why wasn't it on a map IN THE MODULE?

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

You seem to keep missing that this is NOT about me not liking or "wanting" settings from other publishers, large or small. it is about the desire to be excited for something great from official D&D -- in this case a setting that creates the same excitement and wonder as Eberron when it came out...

    D&D 5E (2014) Revisiting Storm King's Thunder

We played session 1 last night and I must be an idiot. For the life of me I could not find Nightstone on any map of the sword coast.

You are a week early (I hope).

Sunday Nonsense: Which TTRPG Systems Survive

So based on this being EN World, I am not surprised that 5E is the largest share. I am a little surprised that GURPS is so high, tho.

Describe your last RPG session in more than 5 words.

Just finished the first real session of my "teaching millenials" campaign (however long it lasts.) My personal trainer expressed interest in trying D&D along with 3 of his cousins. They range in age from 30 to almost 40 (I'm 50). Last week we did a session zero for them to create characters and...

D&D General Did you realize The Forgotten Realms is the most written fantasy world ever?

If you are talking about "stuff happens in the setting" then you are probably right. If you are talking about "people writing about it" not even close. You could fill libraries with Tolkien scholarship and screeds, and twice as many with Harry Potter fanfic.

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

Sorry. Pet peeve of mine. But I agree insofar as things that ARE steampunk can be aethetpunk'd up in order to fit in Eberron.

Sunday Nonsense: Which TTRPG Systems Survive

Sure. EN World is in charge of The Great Purge. As it should be. But Morrus won't know. I am Untouchable.

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

I have never owned a Nintendo console. Does LoZ resemble D&D in any significant way? I thought they were action games, not RPGs.

Sunday Nonsense: Which TTRPG Systems Survive

Not quite. The poll is about which 5 TTRPG systems should survive The Great Purge, and individuals get 3 votes to inform that final list.

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

I hear what you are saying, I just fundamentally disagree. The less fluff in the core rules the better. See: Shadowdark.

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

I don't think it is. I think the looser the fluff in the core book, the more freedom both designers and GMs have in creating worlds. Forcing them to strip stuff out first makes no sense.

Sunday Nonsense: Which TTRPG Systems Survive

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

Fluff goes in the setting book, not the core book.

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

Something in the vein of Carnival Row with a little less Steampunk might hit the spot there. Oh for sure. I would love a weird fantasy setting.

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

Urban Fantasy as in the modern genre, not "medieval fantasy set in a city."

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

Fair. Still not what I was suggesting at all, tho.

WotC Why WotC SHOULD Make A New Setting

Seems like the opposite of what I was asking for, but okay.
