This thread is getting slightly out of hand...... On the goliath thing, if you comapre it to the LA+0 orc, well it seems more or less equal......but if you compare it to planetouched races, you jsut go WTF. I would attribute that to the planetouched races being underpowered though.

Lets say we have a ranger/rogue/someone with good hide/move silently/etc skills.....he scouts ahead of the party in a dungeon......how far behind should the party be?

Looks fine, it really depends on the DM, some just look at the damage numbers and go "this is too high!" without factoring in all considerations.

Ah githzerai, another great +2 LA. Githyanki......a LOT worse stats, a bit more psi-like abilities........yea not worth +2 anywhere as much as githzerai. Drow, slightly weak +2 as well. Avariel(winged elf) from FR, HORRIBLE +3....just horrible.
