    I love D&D!

I played D&D last weekend with my friends. It was as awesome as it has ever been. Count me in on the D&D love!

I'm a monster, rawr! Jinx tees!

I broke down and bought the gnome shirt plus a "magic missiles kill people" one for the heck of it.

Are You Using the 4E Forgotten Realms as a Setting?

I am and part of me wishes I wasn't. I'm lukewarm on 4E FR (I think the setting would have been better served by a reset), but that's not the reason. I somehow feel limited by having chosen a campaign setting at all instead of just going homebrew with the ability to borrow the parts of FR I...

What are you doing with the money you aren't spending on gaming products?

Video games, mostly. The rest is going into the coffers for a nice down payment on a new stronghold...er...I mean house :)

Forgotten Realms Game narrowly evades absolute disaster

Nice. It reminds me of an idea I had to run a time travel scenario, perhaps to a classic location, where they have to play previous edition versions of their characters. I have yet to try it.

Hey Rouse! (a couple things about the character builder)

I just noticed the program calculates an unarmed basic ranged attack on the character sheet. What is the character going to do, throw chunks of himself for 1d4 damage?

Have you seen the aboleth mini?

Coming soon from WotC Pictures: Free Willboleth, the heart-warming story of a boy and a slimy, telepathic horror who just wanted to be loved.

This is the only reason I bought them, and then only at a hefty online discount.

Separating Crunch and Fluff at Character Creation

I think the underlying problem here is the unwanted character creation advice. It's just bad form, no matter how well-intentioned.

Dungeon 162 - Winter of the Witch

This one is going into my campaign "queue" for epic level if it ever lasts that long. Points I like: - A " back to the beginning" feeling by returning to the location of a 1st-level adventure. - BBEG makes a great nemesis for one of the PCs, an eladrin sun cleric (bonus: player hates winter) -...

    How is Palladium doing?

All the negative stuff about Palladium and their system aside, their new zombie apocalypse game, Dead Reign is pretty neat. It's a a good buy at $22.95, even if you only use it as a sourcebook for your favorite system.

When was YOUR Golden Age of Gaming?

A bit melodramatic, but here goes: 1991 - 1995: The Golden Age. High school. Discovered D&D and several other RPGs later. All-weekend gaming extravaganzas. Many fun, carefree times were had. 1995 - 1996: The Age of Discovery. College. Exposed to other gamers and other styles of play...

Help Me Drop My Next Adventure Hook

The adventure I'm currently running, Rescue at Rivenroar, will soon come to an end and I need to drop a hook for the next adventure. I am not going to run the rest of the Scales of War adventure path, so I need some assistance from the fine minds here on where to go next. Here's what I need...

    Espionage RPGs

Palladium's Ninjas & Superspies. Having grown up on James Bond and Bruce Lee movies, this game seemed to have been made just for me. Lovable game and it's still in print as far as I know. Fair warning though, the system is a bit outdated/clunky.

Playing THIS with THAT. . .

I ran a Star Drive game using D6 Space. Although short-lived, it was probably one of the best campaigns I've ever run.
