Level 1 Deva Shaman with 18 Int = decent AC. Our group's Shaman constantly thwarts my monsters' plans. It is a very tactical class though, it needs to be played well to be effective.

I'm surprised that the first two posters think Shamans are weak. Used intelligently, stalker spirit Shamen are remarkably strong.

I see what the OP is saying, but I think there's a difference between a new edition and a living game where the design team actively improves upon the system as a continuous process.

You are right, they don't really draw enough attention to the fact in PHB2.

What about when the Shaman uses a move action to move a zone (various daily powers work like that). He uses a move action to effect the power, but doesn't physically move himself. Does the spirit get to move?

I couldn't agree with this more. When I read the the original post about all the feats this guy wont allow and why, it made me imagine a really annoying DM. Perhaps wrongfully, but its certainly what comes to mind.

I read on the WOTC board that customer services said blast/burst attacks do affect spirit companions. Also, that they don't illicit opportunity attacks.
