My game ended. Give me campaign ideas.

You know, I never really thought about how handy those could be for campaign design. My dad has a real set, one of the original printings from the 70's, so I've read through most of them. I wonder if that's cheating.. ;) --Impeesa--

Archaic and just plain weird insults for roleplaying fun. :)

Thankfully, I have mine right here. ;) Let's take a flip through.. "If though be'st not an ass, I am a youth of fourteen." (All's Well That Ends Well) "Methink'st thou art a general offence and every man should beat thee." (same) "In his sleep he does little harm, save to his bedclothes about...

D&D for Dummies release date: Dec 31, 1969?

Well I guess that explains where Gary and Dave got their ideas from. ;) --Impeesa--

    Video Game Conversions-Currently: 18 PrCs, 45 Spells, and 3 Races-Taking Requests

I've given some thought to Materia, too, though unfortunately I've never put any of it in writing. Here's my thoughts, in a nutshell: -Magic materia: priced as a 1/day command word item, and can be used as such. -Spellcasters can cast a spell from a materia they have equipped by powering it...

    Where D&D goes bad

I'm not a big fan of DM options. Just more potential opposition that I need to be aware of and prepared for. Really, the game should be kept to a minimum of optional extras... one or two monstrous humanoids, one iconic ooze, the chromatic dragons, you get the idea. Maybe a template or two to...

I was just reminded why I love love.

Y'know, Queen had a good song, way back when... "Just one year of love.. is better than a lifetime alone.." --Impeesa--

    How To Become A God

Ah, I see. More like an epic dragon disciple, less like a dragon-specific version of the ascendant discussed here... --Impeesa--

    How To Become A God

Do you have issues with the one in the Draconomicon, or have you just not seen it? If you haven't, I recommend it, it's a good book all around. --Impeesa--

    Playing the PCs for suckers

As a player, oh yeah. That sort of thing is real easy to pull off on us. I think our run through The Standing Stones speaks for itself. ;) --Impeesa--

[OT] What is your current desktop wallpaper?

At any given time over the last few years, there will be about a 90% chance that my desktop is set to this picture: http://web.unbc.ca/~williamp/Wall_2.jpg That's the YF-19, from Macross Plus, for those who don't recognize it. However, at this very moment I've got a different one...

Thing's That Can Make a Role Play Go Bad

I wouldn't say that. Some people might just find that sort of thing a little odd to act out, which would kill the roleplaying mood pretty quickly - thus the topic. --Impeesa--

How many kids do you have?

0 + 3i kids, married for -2.5 years. It frightens me to think that I can state that with such precision and relatively high confidence (being male - I know women who've known that sort of thing since elementary school ;)). I do, however, have a head start on the grey hairs. 4 younger siblings...

Is it just me or do others think that the cover of Libris Mortis is atrocious?

Yeah, they should have a nice cover like the Draconomicon, with one lich bringing fresh adventurers in through the entrance to the dwelling, and the other lich playing with the young lichlings. ..What? --Impeesa--

    My kingdom for a setting

That almost perfectly describes a homebrew campaign-disguised-as-a-setting that I'd love to run someday... unfortunately, I haven't written any of it up in any sort of detail, so I can't really help you much. :) --Impeesa--

    The Saint template

The LA is "artificially low" because it is balanced by the extraordinarily strict roleplaying requirements. Whether roleplaying drawbacks can adequately balance out mechanical bonuses is another debate entirely, but that's the intent. The example text is the same as gaining any template...

My players want me to run Werewolf

To summarize - Werewolf: the Apocalypse: entertaining bloodbath at the very least, deep and spiritual bloodbath if you really get into the roleplaying. Werewolf: the Forsaken: not out until beginning of 2005. --Impeesa--

Do your minotaurs have hooves or feet?

Definitely hooves. With feet, they may as well just be bull-headed humans - and I meet enough of those in real life, thank you very much. ;) --Impeesa--

Does anyone else think D&D 4th edition should be more like 2nd edition

That reminds me of something funny... try to wrap your heads around this one, everybody: I know a guy who hates 3E, and insists that 2E was an awesome game. He admits the core rules have some flaws, but insists that it's still a great game because all you need to do is buy thousands of dollars...

    Spare us the manipulative metaphors

Of course, when a book is written with the sole purpose of updating, correcting, and generally improving a game based on past experience with the prior version (e.g. D&D 3.5, new WoD), then they're entirely correct in describing it as an evolutionary improvement or upgrade. --Impeesa--
