For better or worse, the "expected" outcome becomes even more likely, reducing the chance for "unexpected" outcomes and the stories they generate. Sometimes those stories are silly/swingy and don't make much sense. Sometimes they are legendary.

Magic items are a great way to help martials with the exploration and social pillars. It's true that anyone can use utility items, but martials get so happy when they can contribute outside of combat.

A classic tactic dating back to as long as D&D has been a thing. Countless forum arguments have been waged around the idea that "martials are just as good as spellcasters because I give them more magic items."

While it's definitely possible to tell a serious and heartfelt story about Reincarnation (your dead loved one is now a dove, etc), it's mostly a source of pure unadulterated slapstick comedy. :ROFLMAO:

Oh, absolutely. Cthulhu itself is very low on the totem pole, almost hilariously so for all its publicity. Literally a mini-boss, not even a Darth Vader to the Emperor.
