My poor LBEG - what went wrong?

But you can only hold an action once your initiative comes around, right? So if there were skeletons instead of zombies, the fighter still could've zig-zagged his way between them because they can't get an AoO until they're no longer flat-footed/gone through 1 initiative cycle. This is...

    What is the Hivemind?

Not necessarily. A contracted soul cannot be redeemed while a seller of a soul could be -- usually a soul-seller later repents and may prevent more souls from being sold through their acts. Anything you want, Kemrain. What is your greatest desire. All for the price of one soul. What are you...

    What is the Hivemind?

If you've got documentation, then absolutely --- fair barter for fair trade. No minority laws in the realm of the hereafter. If you don't have documentation, well, then you'd have to get the person's signature. Verbal contracts in the underworld are bad business. Sure you don't want to trade...

    What is the Hivemind?

Can depend on the contract but 99% of the time, the contract follows the soul. Blood is just an extension of the contract and ties to the soul, not the body the blood came from : much like a legal contract doesn't rely on the pen used but the pen user. Some contracts are bodily-based, and...

Not enough to sign this little contract I have? *sigh* Can't fault a devil for trying. :\ And my thanks for the diabolical discourse.

    What is the Hivemind?

Completely in General. Off-topic are general real-life events happening to/from/against/with ENWorlders while General thrives on topics like this. ...hmm....how thankful? **horns extend from forehead** HATE when that happens (pushes horns back in.)

    What is the Hivemind?

I was typing my Binsfield post while your last 2 posts --- so I wasn't ignoring your request, just getting to it now. :) No, sadly the incu/succubus demons are the only ones in human lore that are sin-to-species-specific. Other demonologist texts include the following species (which you've...

    What is the Hivemind?

There are --- Demonologist Peter Binsfield categorized them the deadly 7 in 1589. They are : Lucifer: arrogance Mammon: avarice Asmodai (from where we in D&D get Asmodeus): lust Satan: wrath Beelzebub: gluttony Leviathan: jealousy Belphegor: laziness The ones I listed in the other post were...

    What is the Hivemind?

Sigh! Apollyon -- locust demon that appears at the end of time. Eligor - fiendish knight who commands a portion of the infernal legions . . oh, on the topic of sex --- Sitri, the leopard-headed who causes men to love women and expose themselves, and reveals all the secrets of women. What...

Layout Programs: What do you use?

This thread piqued my interest back in November and I, too, was looking for a cheap solution. All the good ones listed here are in the range of $400 and up, which I can't buy now -- maybe with the sales of the stuff I'm writing, but not now. ;) I looked for free stuff and saw Scribus but...

My poor LBEG - what went wrong?

Reflecting on it, I am being hard on myself. The TBEG (tiny in import, not size) forced them into retreat the level above with a measly wand of magic missle, firing in the dark. I'm sure there was much rejoicing that this didn't happen again and LBEG went down hard.

My poor LBEG - what went wrong?

MuhahHA! Thanks for the chuckle.. Hmm...I ruled it as a strength check and dealt 1d6 subdual damage : but I did use it as a standard action instead of a move action. But there was no attack roll; should've used the improvised object rule. I mis-spoke/remembered : the fighter didn't strike...

Ah, thanks...good to know I wasn't alone. Lord Pendragon --- I forgot to add the Psion(3) ... going to the SRD Encounter Calculator it gives Party: 4.6, EL 6, Difficulty: Very Difficult -- should be used for 15% of encounters. But yes, the EL calculators don't take into effect that they're...

My poor LBEG - what went wrong?

The fighter's first attack was to overturn the table onto the gnome. The gnome stood up on his turn (partial cover of the overturned table), the archer then fired against his cover.
