    Are we fair to WotC?

I used to be against WotC when they stopped publishing 3rd edition books and started 4th edition stuff. I said some things that were over the line and inexcusable, all because of a game. Well, now that I'm here, I realize that I was wrong. Whether I like what they are making right now or not...

    D&D 5E (2014) Skills Should Be Core

Perhaps you should not talk about a play-style that is not your preferred style in a demeaning way.

    My 13th Age Report

I was really impressed by what I read, when I was really incredulous before, to the point that I preordered it so I could read the PDF ahead of time. As far as fantasy d20 goes, I think it's better than Pathfinder, 3.X, or any other fantasy d20 game out there, past or present.

    D&D 5E (2014) Skills Should Be Core

This is a very valid point, and I agree with what you are saying. Nonetheless, I stand by my original assertion, based on the idea that too many choices can burden newcomers with an overload of information.

    D&D 5E (2014) Skills Should Be Core

3rd edition D&D fights against the notion that its easier to include material so others can remove it, rather than start with a simple base and add as desired. Either approach leaves players feeling left out in the cold, but one is decidedly more newbie friendly, and the other more veteran...

    D&D 5E (2014) Skills Should Be Core

Based on my own experiences, if you make the "normal" version of the rules something other than the "basic" version, most of the player base is going to skip it for the actual rules. I don't have evidence to support this, this is just my own personal experience. It comes to a matter of product...

    D&D 5E (2014) Skills Should Be Core

If I am understanding you correctly, you would rather the foundation of what is D&D be built on something more complex than a basic version, rather than the basic version itself.

    D&D 5E (2014) Skills Should Be Core

I disagree. I am firmly of the opinion that at its most basic level, the choices being made should be race, class, equipment packages, stats, maybe alignment. There are people out there who did not start playing D&D when they were 10 years old, and for them, it would be best for them to ease...

D&D 3.x Did Anyone See the Premium 3.5 Spell Compendium on Amazon?

3.5 Premium Spell Compendium Haven't seen it mentioned on the twitters or on the bloggers.

D&D 5E (2014) October Playtest Packet - Magic Items, Updated XP, Monster Traits

The potion miscibility doesn't really detract from the rules and unless they changed it substantially, it's probably the same table from prior editions.

D&D 5E (2014) Ed Greenwood to write 5E's Forgotten Realms

I would love to see a Forgotten Realms where Ed is at the helm, especially if they reboot the setting and roll it back to a prior edition before 3rd edition. In fact, that would be a deal breaker if they didn't, as I did not support the changes they made to the setting post 3rd edition.

    6-5 Rule of Three

It makes me wonder if they are giving humans +1 to all stats because they are considering moving back to 3d6 per stat (though not necessarily in order). In that context, a +1 to everything would make sense, though I highly doubt they are going to abandon 4d6 drop the lowest.

D&D 5E (2014) My D&D Next Wishlist: Bring back XP for GP!

Gold for XP was an integral part of the dungeon crawling experience in earlier editions, but it's only half a component without a defined end game that allows a character to hoard gold in order to secure some untouched land to build their fortress/stronghold/temple/what-have-you. Add in domain...

I want to see one book

Now I'm not necessarily putting my full or even partial support behind D&D Next; that is irrelevant to my point as you will see. As more or less the industry leader in terms of popularity, longevity, and attracting new consumers, D&D is often the template by which other content creators and...

    Monster Stand-Ins Kickstarter

Unfortunately, Joe cancelled the kickstarter because it was too far away from it's goal in the span of seven days. It's sad, but he has combined that kickstarter with the one where he offers publishable images. Basically, you can get laminated cardstock minis by pleding $25 bucks, plus some more...
