Armed with a stack of monster books...

Sounds cool Merric! This is one of the advantages of D&D, you have pretty much everything you need between MM's and core books to design sweet beasties. :D

    DIY GMs?

You fit under "yes". Most every session you GM seems to use stuff you either made up yourself or heavly modified.

    DIY GMs?

For the purposes of this poll there is no middle ground. You either use more self created material than published material or you don't. If it's a tie you'd probly fit in the "no" category.

    DIY GMs?

I was just thinking about GMs who write/design some or all of their of the gaming material the use. Anything from setting, system, adventures, or maybe just modifying published settings/adventures. for the purpose of this poll, I'd say you count as a "yes" if you, more often than not, write...

    School's Out: Zombies in Suburbia

Part 1 The past few days had been a rolling nightmare. Gabe had come home from school, just as he had done every day. It was warm, the sun felt good on his back, and all things were normal in his white picketed fence neighborhood. The only thing out of the ordinary was that he saw no one...

First new books in a while

Dungeonscape is the best WotC book I have seen in quite a while. Its a book that should be in any Dungeon loving GM's collection, no matter the system you prefer. There is also good stuff in there for players.

On the nature of dungeons in your campaign.

I treat any enclosed structure as a dungeon in my games. Whether it be a cave, ruin, palace of a current king or a long dead one they are all dungeons. That said most of my dungeons have a perfectly logical reason why they would be there and why who/what is there. Sometimes thoug we like a good...

Can novels make or break a setting for you?

Novels can make a setting more attractive. When I homebrew, I know how everything works, looks, and feels in my gaming setting. When get a published setting, thats not always the case. Not that I need a series of novels to GM a setting, but Its nice for getting the feel of the setting.

    Dumbest/funniest deaths

I was playing Tales of Gaea once and my character was a 6th level Kolba (halfling) Mage. In the system the game uses you can have spells backfire on you. Well I rolled very very poorly when casting flame breath and the result of the backfire was that my head blew off with flames spewing from the...

    Eberron...is it worth picking -up?

Eberron is by far my favorite 3.5 WotC setting. I also think that the novels for Eberron as a whole have been very good by gaming standards.
