Can anyone recommend a Sci-Fi/Future game?

You could try out Nebuleon if you are not set on just using d20.

Minnesota Gamers - Something You Should Be Aware Of - (LGS Rant)

The Anoka store you are thinking of is Village Games. The Oakdale store is Unicorn Games. there is also a nice store in Cambridge called the Gamers Den. Phantasy Hobby in Shakopee is nice too, but has more minis and LAN stuff. I don't see the big deal really. Crap, if you are a gamer, the...

White Wolf - Yes or no?

I like Vampire (all editions) Werewolf is OK, don't like Mage, Wraith, or Changling. The Vampire games I have played in were as angst free as playing a group of vampires can be, we didn't try to be angsty. We had fun and I look forward to the next time I get to play.

How much blood in a hp?

Sure you could do that and it would work better, and BTW isn't that far from the way D&D currently works. I was just trying to point out that D&D is not a game of biologic simulation because if it were it would be not fun. Characters would bleed to death after a single blow landed.

How much blood in a hp?

If you suppose HP has anything to do with blood volume (which it does not) then you can estimate that: A commoner has 4hp, in the real world the average adult male has about 10 pints of blood. When I worked in blood bank (I'm Medical Lab Tech by trade) if a person came in with a HGB <10 and...

    Best RPG Deal going!

well this wouldn't raise any alarms except that there is absolutely no non-WotC products left on the shelf. All of the sale stuff constitues his whole stock of thirdparty stuff.

    Best RPG Deal going!

This is the first sale of RPG books (particularly d20) that I have seen anywhere locally in years. That is why it is sort of alarming. :heh:

    Best RPG Deal going!

yeah, he does. I think he decided to get rid of it along with all other mongoose books. I know that Runequest has not sold much for him. He ordered three copies when it came out and still had 2 on the shelf, no reorder.

    Best RPG Deal going!

Locally it it seems that more than one store is either dumping third party d20 stuff or greatly reducing what they carry. it seems that (at least hear in minneapolis) d20 is losing favor with retailers.

    Best RPG Deal going!

The store seems to be giving up on D20, with exception of WotC products. The store owner says that Third-Party stuff just does not sell well enough to warrant the shelf space. I think the non-d20 RPGs are out selling his non-WotC d20 stuff. Plus the store is a heavy minis and boardgame store...

you can't go wrong checking out products from Ronin Arts or RPG Objects, they are all very good.

    Do reviews matter?

I'm a staff reviewer over on The RPG Site and I think that sometimes reviewers spend to much time writting a review with only their personal tastes in mind. Whether or not the reviewer has the same likes and dislikes in gaming products as the reader, the review should be useful to the reader. If...

At what Cover Price do you Drop?

I don't dungeon or dragon magazines. There is just too much stuff in each issue that I won't use to be paying $8 for them. It's even to expensive for the subscriber price.

What makes a game store a game store?

any store that sells all the main types of games gamers play and has space for playing of games is a "gaming store". They must stock a selection of: RPGs Minis Board Games Card games They must also host demo games. Other stores who might carry a small sampling of anyone of the above games...

Half-Price Books . . . your source for liquidated books!

Yeah, we are lucky in the minneapolis area to have several HPB locations, other independant bookstores, and a few gaming stores that all sell used RPG books. The Source is simply the best gaming store in the midwest, at least IMO. However,Phoenix games in Minneapolis has a much larger used...

    OSRIC talk

The thing that has me thinking is that if this can be done with non-open material it pretty much means it would be pointless for WotC to publish 4e as a closed system. But this is definitely cool stuff. RPG now is going to like me even more very soon. :)

What's comind for d20 Mod from WotC?

d20 modern has the advantage of having better quality thridparty published stuff. Better than the D&D OGL stuff in general. It looks like many of the current publisher of d20 modern supplement don't have intentions of stoping any time soon.
