    Anima RPG?

More complex than GURPS and HERO? It has a lot of crunch up front in PC creation but in play its actually pretty quick and light. Sort of like BESM3e in many ways. Most of the complexity is illusory based on the godawful way the mechanics are communicated.

Thousand Thrones: Your Experiences? (Here there be Spoilers, Probably)

I am just finishing up chapter 5. Its a great campaign but it has some serious issues due to the amount that has been cut from it. First, I assume you have seen the two expansions for TTT by the original authors here: The Thousand Thrones Expansions If not, grab them. They reall help to expand...

    BESM D20 question

I imagine that it's left intentionally vague, probably as a servant purchased with such points should generally have a level of plot immunity. If the servant died then I would allow the player to redistribute the points elsewhere when it made sense narratively.

Fabled Lands choose your own adventure game books are back

Fabled Lands the RPG was released last week. There are previews of it on Order of the Eternal Knight. It looks very impressive. Respectful of the old material but with some chanegs to multiplayer play.

Fabled Lands choose your own adventure game books are back

Dragon Warriors is in print but it has moved from Magnum Opus to Serpent King Games (Serpent King Games). All existing books are making their way back in print and the Players Guide is written and in preproduction phase.

From Fabled Lands to 4E (and towards the Holy Grail of D&D)

This is a bit of a thread necro, but as a matter of interest the Fabled Lands RPG was just released last week. It uses the system from the gamebooks but it has been expanded to make it more robust for multiplayer play. It looks very well designed so far with the whole book clocking it at just...

    [SWSE] Looking for Pregens

I am looking for pretti-fied pregen PCs for SWSE. I am not so worried about the stats as having them laid out and presented in an appealing way for a demo. Bonus points if they are 1st level.

D&D 4E What is some of the best 3PP stuff for 4e?

Amethyst by Goodman Games is the best 3pp setting for 4e so far. Courts of the Shadow Fey by Kobold Quarterly/Open Design is the best 3pp adventure for 4e so far.

    Opinions about 4e as a one-shot game?

I have 4e as a one shot for complete newbies at levels 1, 3, 5, 15 and 22. In all cases, it took only 1 fight for people to get up to speed and within 3 combats we were chugging along at 45 minutes per combat.

    11th Century Europe D&D Campaign

For the naysayers, I recently ran a heroic tier all Martial Power game for 4e. The feel was 13th Warrior and not legendary wire-fu. As such, provided you are looking for a bit of action and not pure historical enactment, it should be OK.

    11th Century Europe D&D Campaign

Backgrounds do a decent job here already. If its not enough allow two backgrounds to have mechanical effect.

    11th Century Europe D&D Campaign

You may want to check out the Feudal Lords stuff for 4e. Its high quality 3PP stuff with some nice ideas. It is set after 11th Century but it may still be of use. IMO I would go with the low/no magic item option in the DMG. I would encourage martial power classes only, though allow...

FFG have been running a series of preview that detail the new system. The changes are considerable.

    Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Preview Picture

There is to be no battlemap. The game uses a relative positioning system and terrain cards to abstract combat. I am guess that this was partially due to their licence with GW to avoid miniatures.

    Transparency in Skill Challenges

Understand. I don't think I have ever encountered this as the tools are there to design your SC to avoid it. Looking at my basic example: First, only 1 milestone relates to using Diplomacy. As such, it would likely by max 1 success. The Face PC could talk and talk all day but he couldn't win...

    Transparency in Skill Challenges

This is a misnomer created by having too much transparency in SC. If you reveal a SC in full, the only decision a player need make is matching their trained skills with the best DC. Its a purely mathematical exercise of obtaining the best chance of success. Not only does this effectively remove...

    Transparency in Skill Challenges

Aid Another is an easy issue to resolve. Just apply the same principles as you would normally. When I began my group on SC, I said that I expected as many Aid Another's in a SC as I did in normal play, which was about 0. I said that if the PCs all suddenly became Voltrun during a SC, that I...
