Orcus of Necromancer Games says "You were right, I was wrong"

Not really. I am interested in recent developments in 3PP with the GSL. OBE stopped for very specific reasons (rules material is difficult to do) and Adamant seems to have come to the conclusion that adventures are the most viable product under the GSL. As such, I am genuinely interested in why...

    Later core book printings

Awesome. So has anyone confirmed errata in a later printing of a D&D book that they own?

Orcus of Necromancer Games says "You were right, I was wrong"

I would be interested to here what those lots of reasons were. Though 3PP rules material is proving difficult under the GSL, adventures are prime candidates.

    Later core book printings

I admit I could be wrong. The statement was made a while back in relation to Star Wars Saga with an implication it was a company wide policy. If people could confirm that errata appears in later editions that would be cool. FWIW the decision not to would make sense from a business POV. WotC had...

    Later core book printings

I am pretty sure that WotC's stance is that it no longer updates its book by printing. Instead, errata is added to the Updates, and significant errata is included in later books like Stealth in PHB2 and Skill Challenges in DMG2. As such, you may be waiting for a long time.

How the hell do readied actions work!

Its really not that complicated and IMO is written very clearly. Dracosuave and others have given accurate explanations, but to reiterate, its a reaction, so: Ready Action: To attack any enemy that moves adjacent to me. Trigger Action: An enemy moves adjacent to the PC. Reaction: The PC attacks...

    4E Classes You Like

I would like to play all of them too. Specials mentions to Fighter, Wizard, Shaman and Warden.

Demon Queens Enclave - Session Reports

I am interested to hear how going to Urlvrain first is going to effect the state of play. In my PbP, the PCs went to Lareen first, then Orontor, both due to personal subplots created to give the scenario more connection. Lareen is a PC's mother :) and Orontor was changed to Oloraena, a drow...

    Seekers of the Ashen Crown

No one is meant to work it out. The short cut is there to reduce the dungeon down on the return at the end of the adventure. However, to disallow the shortcut altogether would have been poor, so they provided just enough clues to make it feel like you could work it out, but not enough to...

Demon Queens Enclave - Session Reports

Cool. I was looking through the DMG2 in the store and there is scope of choosing class powers when creating a Companion. I guess that's what I was looking for :)

Demon Queens Enclave - Session Reports

Sounds good. Do they incorporate the Class templates from DMG1?

    At-Will damage scaling too slow?

Damage already scales to an extent. From levels 1 to 10, PCs don't have their full complement of Encounters, Utilities and Dailies. From levels 11 to 20, they do. As such, leaving everything else aside, they have more options and will do more damage as they have a full complement of those...

Demon Queens Enclave - Session Reports

If there are specific rules in the DMG2, even better.

Demon Queens Enclave - Session Reports

Nice idea. I am going to explore this myself. I would convert them into a mosnter first (there are rules for this in the DMG) and then use that a Cpmpanion Character.

    RPG Systems with no DM/GM/etc

Primetime Adventures, Polaris, Theatrix, Shock... The traditional roles of a GM and player is really just one way to distribute narration rights over a group created story. In the above RPGs, the narration rights pass from player to player at set times as determined by the rules. This could be...

    granted saving throws

No. The Errata covers this with the words: "The effect doesn't change if the creature fails a saving throw against it at a time other than the end of the turn."

    Skill challenge success and failure

The DMG2 also covers this ground quite well.

    Skill challenge success and failure

The main thing is to ensure that failure is still fun and the story can continue to move. I agree that combat is not a good failure for a SC. I tend to add disadvantages to combat instead. These can be positional (surpirse is good), conditions, or even new hazards. I have also awarded rerolls...

Demon Queens Enclave - Session Reports

I opened with a group dream sequence filled with all kinds of signs and portents. I ran it as a Skill Challenge and it granted a form of drama points in the form of rerolls.
