Cubicle 7 No Longer Producing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth

The one thing I will say about MERP is that it recognised that ME was all about magic items. It went so far as to include the PCs finding a magic medallion in the gutter on the way through Minas Tirith in the opening box text for Palantir Quest. Class.

Cubicle 7 No Longer Producing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth

You obviously did not read this post before you decided to try and turn into "MERP is the best ME RPG ever" thread. Just above your post is an explanation that the licence remains with SG and SG have said that TOR will continue given how successful and well received it has been. C7 has just...

    Modiphius’ Latest License: Dishonored

Though they share the same base system, the 2d20 games do differ considerably. You may be able to use material from Mutant Chronicles with stuff from Infinity, and the same for JC and Star Trek, but it would be much more difficult the farther down the spectrum of 2d20 games you go.

Get Started With World of Darkness With The New Blood Starter Pack

They are charging £5 for a quickstart preview of the game? Surely it would be better as a free preview if the intent is to get people to buy the full RPG.

    Modiphius’ Latest License: Dishonored

Cool. I played the system quite a bit and had the opposite reaction. Familiarity does help speed things up but the issues only became more obvious with time. I haven't played JC though, and it may be by stripping the system right back to bare basics, they revealed the system underneath. However...

    Modiphius’ Latest License: Dishonored

See my response above. It just has too many parts that do the same thing or similar things (number of dice & target numbers, momentum & hero points, how damage works to name a few) often in not particularly intuitive ways. IMO it needs an overhaul to bring its systems in line and avoid this echo...

    Modiphius’ Latest License: Dishonored

I find it to be a confusing mess of mechanics, with too many resources overlapping each other. It feels like its over-designed in order to make you think that there is more going on than there should be. I haven't checked out John Carter, which may be better as its simpler, but I have checked...

    WFRP Release Updates for 2020

Not 4th edition. However, it is easier to convert 1e and 2e to ZH as its mechanically closer to them than 4e is. Fortunately, all of The Enemy Within is already out for 1e: DriveThruRPG.com - Cubicle 7 Entertainment Ltd. - Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay First Edition - The Largest RPG Download Store!

Cubicle 7 No Longer Producing The One Ring and Adventures in Middle Earth

Its more complex than that. Doesn't the design team on TOR work for Sophisticated Games? Perhaps SG does more than just licence the IP and may even retain much of the IP in TOR and AiME, much like GW does with WFRP.

Yep, they go back some years prior to Tales from the Loop having released both Mutant Year Zero and Coriolis (with the existing RPG Symbaroum having since come under their umbrella).

Things from the Flood Is Now Available

Generally RPGs with children PCs are intended for adult players IME. Most children players want to play adults. Though Tales from the Loop has a simple system that would work for children players, the overall aim is for adult players to capture nostalgia from their own childhood. A number of...

Things from the Flood: A Review

They are similar in crunch. The main mechanical distinction between the archetypes is the favoured skills as you can only have 1 in a skill to start unless favoured. Other than that, it’s more a points buy system for PCs than a class based one. Prides do provide a lot of mechanical distinction...

Tomas Härenstam, Lead Designer for Mutant: Year Zero, Talks Free League RPGs

Forbidden Lands is FL's most complex RPG. In order of complexity after that, they go Mutant Year Zero, Coriolis and Tales from the Loop. The last is simple and an almost perfect introduction to new players in the hobby and you can use it and the other FL's to step up the complexity over time...
