What are the 10 most important d20/OGL books?

Not my favorites, not the best, but rather the most important: Mutants & Masterminds by Green Ronin - First good OGL product not clonning D&D Death in Freeport by Green Ronin - First decent d20 adventure Creature Collection by White Wolf - Early supplement that inspired many others Arcana...

Deluxe Gaming Products - Lessons from Ptolus

I have a single Deluxe product, which is the 25th anniversary edition of Call of Cthulhu. No color, but an exquisite layout and beautiful monochrome illustrations (which is more suitable to CoC than paintings) and a really good hardcover. Although I like very much to have it, fact is, I need to...

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Perhaps you could release such adventure, skipping references to WotC's IP, not much different from what your Castle Zagyg is. People will know what is about. I bet that even the panel that elected Queen of Spiders as the best adventure ever would buy it.

    Best system for horror... Thoughts?

Yes, but Buffy, Angel and Armies of Darkness use the Cynematic version, which is somewhat ligther in rules and customized to be... cynematic, whereas ConX, All Flesh, Armageddon, Terra Primate, and Witchcraft uses the full version of Unysistem.

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

I didn't liked Q1, but the previous adventures, especially the G series, were so good that I can easily understand why the compilation was so well rated.

    Ed Greenwood's Castlemourn at dtrpg.com

Just finished downloading it. It looks nice and there is no Ubber NPC to be seem. So far, so good.

    WotC Sneak Peek Seminar

You're right about nostalgia. However, if you consider that the early modules defined the genre, you cannot deny that they were very original. I am all forward new versions of old classics. As long as they are well done! The Return series was awful. It would be much better if they only...

    WotC Sneak Peek Seminar

I found funny to see that the very last slide was the Caves of Chaos. Considering how much they like to do the same adventure over and over again, perhaps WotC thought it was time to pay respects to the Keep again.

    Best system for horror... Thoughts?

Chaosium's BRP is, by far, the best horror game I ever played. The fact it is also my favorite roleplaying game is also an indicator of how much I like it. Still, Supernatural is less about horror and more about dark fantasy as fear is never an issue to the Winchester brothers. You may want to...

    3.5 vs Rolemaster

Those are mooks, Freddie and Jason are the actual PCs!

Those movies are not gritty. Can you imagine how many hit points have Jason or Freddie?

    3.5 vs Rolemaster

For what I read at Iron Crown forums, it will be a dead tree release -- very likely followed by pdf, if other ICE releases are a good model. I hope ICE will also issue hardcover editions, something I always wanted for these books.

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

That's what I was thinking. I found most of the Survival Guides useless, except for the proficience system (taken from Oriental Adventures), which, despite the fact I liked, sounded a little out of place in AD&D, if you allow me the criticism. Still, I would like very much to see a Manual of...

    Description in "boxed text"

I'll go with C. The focus is in the opposition as hardly anyone will pay attention to the decoration whereas a group of armed monsters are ready to charge against him or her. Still, I would read the room description if a player specifically asked for it.

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Gary, I was reading the late AD&D releases, such as the Dungeoneer and Wilderness Survival Guides and Manual of Planes and they they did have a different quality from the earlier AD&D releases, especially Manual of Planes. Was you involved with those projects? I believe MoP was released after...

    D&D and RPG Play

I play several systems, my favorites are BRP and Traveller, although I am becoming quite a fan of Warhammer FRP 2nd edition, which I am runing right now (and tonight is gaming night! :D ). Still, I like D&D, but I prefer the Rules Cyclopedia version and have a soft spot for AD&D.

    3.5 vs Rolemaster

Oh yeah, the black humour is just great. My favorite is try a spatula.

    3.5 vs Rolemaster

Yeah, it sucks to be killed by a lucky foe. However, in my experience, players are much more cautions regarding combat in Rolemaster and they try to solve the situation without fighting. If fighting is unavoidable, players tend to outsmart the enemies and try to get surprise or the advantage of...

    3.5 vs Rolemaster

I've GMed a Mystara campaign with the current rules of Rolemaster that brought the characters up to the 12-14th level. Before reading my answers, let me tell you that I disliked the system. I would pretty much recommed the first or second edition version of the game -- easily found at e-Bay or...
