WotC [Updated!] Hasbro Laying Off 1,100 Employees

I am very sorry for so many workers who certainly did their best for the success of their company. On the other hand, I truly hope that the WoC brand manager responsible for the terrible Italian localization is part of the 1,100 employees beeing layed off.

Do players want challenging games, with a real chance of death?

I usually play as DM, but when I play a PG I want a challenging game with a constant probability of death (I remember a AD&D 2E campaign in Dark Sun where none of us was ever at full hp).

OSR BECMI, how do you say it?

In Bologna we pronunce it BECMI (soft c) and not BECHMI with the hard c. Maybe in Rome you have a different pronunciation ;) (to be honest it makes some sense because the C is for Companion that is pronunced with the hard c).

In principle it makes the game more tactical. You have.to protect casters in order to have them cast a spell without being in danger to lose it. It depends on how you want to play.

D&D 5E (2014) Players Only: How Often Should Your Character Be Able to "Go Nova"?

Maybe it could be better to define what "go nova" means. Is casting a fireball going nova? Or is an Action Surge going nova? But yes, I would prefer characters limited to not-particulary-powerful abilities so that the team work and the problem solving skills should be used to deal with...

D&D General Why Is D&D Successful?

I was thinking the same. The term "rpg video game" is now very common, while in other years it was a niche among other more mainstream generes (sports, shooters, etc.). It helped a lot that a lot of people in 2014 was aware of what a rpg is. Also the term "nerd" was more simpatic after tv shows...

Thanks for your precious contribution. I was thinking something similar and you confirmed my idea. The story is now so big and complex that the connections are a sort of labyrinth. Still hoping for a happy end.
