WotC WotC President Cynthia Williams Resigns

Maybe in the future. Most are so use to new editions being noncompatible I'd guess it'd take some time to shake off the habit of holding out until the new arrives.

My Comic & Game store got broken into and burgled.

A stero shop I worked at back when I was in my twenties had been broken into several times. The owner had a pretty intimidating dog he would leave in the store once we closed (he kept the dog in a fenced in area out back). I'm not sure how much of a deterrent the dog was but I'm sure it made...

D&D General Bob World Builder Recreates WOTC's "Do You Like Me?" Survey!

His ratio is way better than the usual suspects. He's always seemed fair to me and the only reason he made this video was because his video about class/race percentages was fairly popular. I'm not really sure getting why he's getting some hate, maybe I'm missing something?

D&D General Bob World Builder Recreates WOTC's "Do You Like Me?" Survey!

Yeah, I wasn't trying to put down Bob. I agree with your list of YouTube creators, definitely look out for new videos from this group. Also Jorphdan is pretty good.

D&D General Bob World Builder Recreates WOTC's "Do You Like Me?" Survey!

Yeah Bob is definitely one of the better Youtubers. He doesn't try to be click baity and most of his stuff is just about running the game.

Critical Role's 'Daggerheart' Open Playtest Starts In March

Great point! Still reading through the rules and admittedly I have a lot of knee jerk reactions to some things.

Critical Role's 'Daggerheart' Open Playtest Starts In March

I wish them all the success in the world for this game, but looking through it I gotta say it's not for me. Just after a first look through it appears to be crunchier than 5e. I'm not a fan of the cards but time will tell. I'd definitely like to watch it being played. Another concern is how will...

WotC Vecna Eve of Ruin: Everything You Need To Know

We started our campaign with xp but have sense changed it to milestone leveling.

D&D General Lore & Legends Forgotten Realms map now available.

Interesting. I put the Sunless citadel closer to Phandalin in my game. Cool to see but it does have some odd stuff going on.

WotC Hasbro CFO Sharpens Focus on Cost Savings As Toy Shoppers Pull Back

Is it just me or did toys (at least action figures) use to be way cooler than they have been? I have a daughter and she liked getting a doll here and there but she never really latched on to them like my cousins did when we were little. I mean we had Ninja Turtles, Terminator, Aliens, Predator...

D&D General Who “owns” a PC after the player stops using them?

I've never even thought about this or have I ever needed to, but it's a great question. I would say the player owns the PC. They put the time into developing the character. If I ever use a PC in the future I'd definitely ask permission from the player.

WotC Vecna Eve of Ruin: Everything You Need To Know

I agree with you. I wish they would have given him a more classic lich look. Something just looks unlich like to me.

WotC Vecna Eve of Ruin: Everything You Need To Know

By the time we finish Shattered Obelisk we can just transition into this new adventure. I'm excited!

D&D 5E (2024) Out with the old, in with the new?

If the 2014 phb goes out of print, can't find it on shelves after 2024, I don't see what it matters. The 2024 phb will be THE phb going forward.

D&D 5E (2014) How often do your 5e sessions end with a Long Rest for the party?

Most of the time because it feels like a natural stopping point. That and it's easier to remember where to pick up for next session. We've had times were we ended sessions in dungeons but it's usually ended when a long rest happens.

D&D General Penguin Random House To Stop Distributing D&D [UPDATED!]

Does anyone have any insight on how this may or may not affect D&D at stores like Books a Million? It's the only store in my are (within 2 hrs) that carries RPG material.

    D&D 5E (2024) Do you plan to adopt D&D5.5One2024Redux?

You have a point. It would be prime time to call it whatever they like. Although if it wasn't called PHB that would break "tradition" and probably upset some folks. I'm not saying either is right or wrong just thinking out loud so to speak.

    D&D 5E (2024) Do you plan to adopt D&D5.5One2024Redux?

Eventually it'll be the only D&D PHB. I think it if they labeled it differently and stopped producing the 2014 PHB it could possibly be more confusing to new players.

D&D 5E (2014) There's A Platinum Vecna: Eve of Ruin From Beadle & Grimm This Summer

I bought the Shattered Obelisk box and it was fully loaded with beautiful maps, DM tools like creature cards you can drape on the DM screen, the whole adventure being separated into booklets and even bonus adventure material, and don't forget the sweet sweet mind flayer minis. It was expensive...

    D&D 5E (2024) Do you plan to adopt D&D5.5One2024Redux?

I'm not really understanding why you seem to think WotC is trying to hide that the new books will be replacements for the current core books. They've been pretty open about this. They have also been pretty open that the new books will not make your older 5e adventures incompatible. The new books...
