There's definitely some "oh, cool!" moments but I agree with you.

Yeah if I had to guess you could probably use any mini for any stat block (monster), just like you would on table top if you don't have the particular mini.

I really like the wilderness screen and dungeon screen for 5e. As of now I'm using the screen that came with Beadle's Phandelver box.

It would be hard to tell if Tasha's is used a lot or not. It seems like the floating ability score is default on Dndbeyond and the spells pop up on the list regardless if you have the book purchased or not. I guess, maybe, I own the book on beyond so it just may appear default to me.

5e24 is what I've been using.

Curious how they change it on Dndbeyond or if they'll change it up. I wouldn't expect they'd need to.

Overall I like it. It looks easier to find stuff but I agree about the skills.
